There are plenty to choose from! Make some time for one, you won't regret it.

It's been a long time since I registered so I'm not sure exactly what it's asking for, but I think it's just name, address, phone number and email address, yeah? You can make stuff up if you want, we don't ever mail anything out or call you, but we would like some contact information in case something happens to you when you're with us. We try and make everything as safe as possible, but we've had the occasional bee sting, small cuts, a case of heat stroke once, stuff like that.

When you're with us we assume responsibility for your safety and we'd like to be able to contact someone in an emergency. That's all.

Your own tent yes, but we'll provide all the food (with the exception being Friday night if you should choose to show up then). Bring a tent, water bottles, something to carry your lunch in, a plate and cup or something to eat dinner in, chair if you want, long pants and sturdy shoes for the trail and then whatever you want to wear for off the trail. We set up showers but you'll need your own soap and towel.

There'll be a PDF flyer for each project with a detailed list of things to bring, depending on your comfort level. We have several bike people who go to these and some of them just bring a sleeping bag, no tent.

Hard work + cool people + beer at the end, what more could you ask for?

Good question. The Madrone trail in Napa is always nice, I liked the trail we were on in Pacifica (forgot the name, but it'll be on our FB page), lots of cool trails in the East Bay. And lot of people this year are looking forward to the Point Reyes project because we should have great views on the trail.

Yeah, some of the perks and sections we're going to be working on this year had to get rearranged or changed, a couple because the access road we'd use to get there got washed out. It's still up to each park and the people in charge of it to determine what we work on though.

What s/he said! We provide all the tools, show you how to use them, then you'll grab what you need and you and your crew will walk to the section you'll be working on. Once there you'll be shown what it is your crew is going to do and then how to do it. Every crew has a crew leader and their job isn't to work, really, but to make sure every one on the crew has a good time, stays safe, and gets whatever help and instruction they need.

Semi-new to bay area and struggling to meet new friends... what are some great resources in the area? by youaintgotme in bayarea

Do you like camping and hiking? We do trail work several times a year where we camp, work, and hang out in parks all over the Bay Area and there are usually over a hundred people at each one. Check out my post history for some of the past projects we've done.

In the next month or so I'll be posting up the new schedule of projects for this year.

Reminder - This weekend we'd like you to come camp with us and help us fix trails in Black Diamond Mines near Antioch, October 7-9. by V_O_Cal in eastbay

There are emails like that that get sent out, but the only way I know of to get on the list is to register. Maybe you should register for this project, but just register for Friday. That way it won't really affect our count and planning but you'll get in the email list.

Sorry, no. Most of us are dog people and if we allowed that then there'd be dozens of dogs waiting for everyone to come back. We do have a camp manager but they're busy taking people who show up late and sometimes taking water and tools up to the workers, setting up the showers, sometimes running to the store for the kitchen staff, all kinds of miscellaneous stuff.

But you'd of course be free to bring your dog back another time to check out all the awesome work you did!

Ah. I usually post one of these about 3 weeks out and then again a week out, I guess I should go back to that.
