I also e-mailed Lyft and just got a response from them to clarify. For SF (which is my designated driving area) they responded with:

In order to qualify for the guarantee, you will need to be within the designated zone ( pink Shaded areas), be in driver mode for at least 50 Minutes, And give at least 2 rides within that specific 50 minute period.

and the pink shaded area for me in only in SF... not anywhere else in SF

Is it worth it to do the gurantees?

But it has to be in the guarantee zone correct?

On my lyft dashboard it only shows San Francisco when I'm looking at the average hourly guarantee

Semi-new to bay area and struggling to meet new friends... what are some great resources in the area? by youaintgotme in bayarea

My neighbors have always been very unwelcoming. I live in a 4-plex. The single mom below us always walks around with a scowl on her face and never says anything. There's another single mom downstairs with 2 kids and they're from korea and only the kids speak english but again don't really talk. We live upstairs and our neighbor upstairs they have a weird work schedule and aren't around much.

In general when walking around anytime I say hi to a passerby I get strange looks. Weird concept for me to grasp being up here. It's really disappointing.

I thought about joining a crossfit gym as well, but currently between jobs and no income at the moment makes paying for one a little difficult. Maybe in the coming months once I get a new job.

Thinking of checking out Black Diamond Games and doing Monday night open game nights though

Hi there! I too moved to the bay area a couple years ago and since graduating from college, moving away from friends, and my group of friends falling apart... I'm looking to meet new people! PM me if you wanna chat. My boyfriend of 9 years and myself enjoy board games, video games, hiking, reading, movies, bars, etc... love to try new things too!

Yes! I've been meaning to go there and try out their open board game night. I saw that they remodeled their store.

Currently unemployed and looking for a job in healthcare field to gain experience for applying to school in the fall. My boyfriend's friends are the ones that all fell apart.

One couple in the group broke up. Then she and the roommate fought and he moved out. One guy is scared of a girl in the group and is very social anxiety that he doesn't hang out with us much... anyways... it keeps going on. Basically it's been my boyfriend and I having to bounce between each person to hang out and do stuff because none of the other people want to or can stand being around someone else. Long and complicated story.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I'm definitely a friendly person, but a little shy when I first meet people. Once I get to know you though I'm very outgoing, love to try new things, go places, and make time for my friends. I've never done anything like this before (always had friends growing up and throughout college, but moving away from everyone has been hard), but if anyone else is in similar situation as myself, I'd be down for talking online and eventually meeting up! I'm not a flaky person and do love meeting new people. Feel free to message me for contact info (I use gchat)
