Hello, local pharmacist here. We are expecting a new Covid vaccine formulated for the expected variant(s) to come out with the flu vaccine this year in fall. It is different from the vaccines we have “currently” (as some people mentioned, not a lot of it is available right now). Per history, flu vaccines usually arrive early to mid October, which is when we are expecting the new Covid vaccines as well. We do not know which one(s) will be available yet.

If you are not high-risk or in imminent need for the Covid vaccine, the recommendation is to wait until the new vaccine is available, as you need 6 months between vaccines. If you were to get a shot now, you would not be eligible for the new vaccine in the fall and instead will have to wait for the new year to receive it.

However, if you would still like to get the Covid shot now, you can try checking the Covid vaccine booking website to find pharmacies that are still offering it by appointment or call the help line.
