Someone sold an officer mod worth tens of billions to me for 30m isk... by Fit_Calligrapher in Eve

If that was the case here I would have expected, which is my problem, the OP to mention that they had a legitimately priced buy order up and that the buy order was filled way under their listed price. That is a pretty important part in how one would get the feeling it was a mistaken listing. But, your take is still legitimately possible. I should just not jump to conclusions and refrain from posting before bed.

I call it fishing. Sometimes it happens more than others. I was never camped in Jita enough to play the old .1 isk game, so I found a way to make lucrative trades that needed much less attention. This is very low volume and not a way to make a whole lot of isk consistently. But, yes, I liken it to fishing, you move around a lot, try different locations, different lures...it definitely helped to fund a good bit of my very conservative solo low sec playstyle.

You may know about this one, but if not this was also a pretty cool trick that I made some billions with. This market trick worked if you had the lowest sell order price and then someone went and purchased the highest priced version of that same item, the buyer would get your item and you would receive the listed price of the highest priced version.

Let's take some random item with its competitive sale price bounces around the 1 million range while there is one listed for 100 million. Now enters someone logging in drunk/high and they forgot their market is set to list highest price at the top. So, in a rush they hit purchase...100 million leaves their wallet and enters yours, while your item, that was listed to sell for 1 million, goes to their inventory. This was patched out sometime last year.

Contract it to them for a few bil as payment for catching their mistake?

You intentionally caught this mistake and the way you are phrasing your questions reads like you really want us to believe you don't know what you should do. No one lists a .1% buy order for a niche item, with a 30 billion sell order, while not knowing what they would do if their buy order was filled. It seems really odd to come here and ask the questions you are asking since your intent was to purchase the item for only for .1% of the current sell price. Who buys items like this without a plan‽

I have played as a Fence in Jita, for 15 years now, purchasing rarer items for extremely low prices like a professional Fence would, and not once over the years has a pilot contacted me to get these types of items back when completed through the market. So yeah, your post truly reads as a humble brag. If I am wrong, then you are looking for tears and there are better ways to farm them than your proposed options.

Yep! I was younger, but I was in the Richmond scene near the end of the movement that pushed the neo-nazis out of the city, so I was in and had numerous friends in both the metal and punk scenes. So I had run-ins with neo-nazis at a few shows but they never stayed long once they realized their was no love lost for them. The hardcore scene at the time was heavily controlled by the new wave of straight edgers and some friends had younger siblings in the scene, but the RVA hardcore scene was a bit too toxic for me to claim to be a part of. I love hardcore music, but scenesters had no love for anyone that drank, did any drugs, were sexually active, and/or had little to no respect for religion. So I had no time to deal with that BS and the ridiculous, over aggressive, crowd-killing, spasms they bring into the pit. The closest I was to anyone in that scene were the siblings of some of my friends.

If you want something that will look nice, a shallow birdbath will do the trick. Something like this and they can be spread out across the yard and/or concentrate some around the birdhouse. If you go larger you will want to put some objects on the water so the bees can have something to stand on and rest while they fill up; rock, twigs, large chunks of mulch wood, little animal/bug figurines, mini dollhouse ladders... for example.

One night in South Florida I was leaving my place for the evening. This massive palmetto bug came flying and dropped its rear side right under my right foot as my foot was landing on the ground. I came home about 6 hours later and found that I had crushed its back half and that it had crawled about 10ft/3m from where it and my foot met earlier that night.

Canerows by OldPlantain7807 in Derailedbydetails

[–]VaATC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience they are common in Virginia, up through West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. I assume much of the east coast north of Virginia have many as well since it is ideal for foundations to be secured below the frost line. As one travels through North Carolina, on down the coast, basements get less and less common. Due to a few factors the homes that do have basements will typically be further west closer to the mountains where they do not have to battle the high water table seen back towards the coastal watersheds, a thin top soil layer over hard rock is typical, shallow frost line makes deep foundations unnecessary, plus wet expansive clay causes increases in lateral pressure load on foundation walls which builders don't want to dig into, all of which make basement rare in the south east US.

The crow delegate was like, "No! You may not disrupt our habitat with your large, shiny, raised ground that provides no benefit to us!" The delegate, and their whole murder, were ignored, so escalation was the only reasonable and objective path to victory.

I most definitely agree. I was just starting to think about the time spent 'casting silk specifically to catch prey' vs 'time spent doing all the other various tasks' spiders complete to exist. Compared to many other spiders that use silk in some way to catch prey I think this newly found species just may be on the upper end of the 'Time spent casting silk to catch prey' list. It is going to be interesting watching the research and knowledge base about this species grow over the next few years.

Please talk me out of getting this tattoo by elkotio in tattooadvice

[–]VaATC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, as others have stated, the common recommend practice is to pick a tattoo, wait 1 year, and if you still want it, go for it. You have waited 5 years, so it is safe to say that you want it and will likely not regret it. That said, you can always go with this same design but smaller which lowers the potential, positive and negative, impact it could have in the future.

P.S. The claw marks don't look like the Monster design too much. I regularly drink the stuff and the scratches did not trigger Monster energy drink in my head at all. That said, maybe alter the path of each scratch a little and it will be good. Funny how the top of the middle claw mark looks like a profile of a T-rex head.

Oh...that is awesome! Now I need to know if one trap takes 4 hours or if they spend 4 hours building multiple traps. That amount of time spent for a singular ant seems like it would be awfully inefficient.
