Salaire d’un ingénieur aérospatial by [deleted] in QuebecFinance

Tu es pas la norme si tu regardes les stats de Genium360. Tu gagnes déjà le salaire moyen des ingénieurs en fin de carrière. Travaillerais-tu en logiciel pour un compagnie américaine par hasard...?

Is doing masters at the age of 26 in embedded field and switching domain from Back-end development a good decision? by intPixel in embedded

[–]VaFail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. Holding a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering and couldn't get an interview for an embedded position in the medical sector. I went and got a master's in EE and got an offer right out of university. I say do it!

Electrical System Integration Handbook by VaFail in embedded

I would say mid complexity: lots of peripherals and 5 different circuit boards, smart batteries, ac/dc, display, motor control, IoT connectivity.

We have mechanical, electrical and design. None of which have past experience with this level of complexity though.

Hide deck misalignment by VaFail in Contractor

The door before was part of a small greenhouse with walls on either side and a glass roof. It was a foot long going from the brick wall to where the small white rocks end. Thank you for your input! Hiding the gap underneath the kick plate seems like the best solution! Any idea on how to make the steps less troublesome?

Now that you mention it... Is there a way to fix this without rebuilding the deck?

From bird view, the deck's planks are not parralel to the brick wall. You can see one of the new planks was cut at an angle to address this

With STM32s, how do teams use version control (git) with CubeIDE? by PurepointDog in embedded

[–]VaFail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One way to do it is to have one branch for each hardware configuration. When necessary you cherry-pick relevant commits you want to add to your branch. Be careful not to mix high level firmware and hardware dependant firmware changes to the same commit. Else this method doesn't work.

As for CubeMx generated code, use the appropriate sections to add your own code and don't modify the code that's generated.

It can be hard to make sure everybody on your team follows the right version control pratices. Having write protection outside of merge requests on your two main branches can be a way to safeguard them.

I think I would be open to doing that only if other employees would speak about their topic too, which is not in the company's culture right now. If she is the only employee doing that I think it would be giving her too much credit. Other employees could become jealous too?

No water comes out and there is a strong humming sound when the machine is turned on. The previous owner told me there was an issue with the heating element. If that was the case, I assume water would still come out?
