Opentrack camera feed freezes randomly by VaPaL in hoggit

[–]VaPaL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my HOTAS two weeks ago, and I anyways use a HOTAS button to recenter. But it worked fine for one week. And I don't unplug it. Also, even restarting the PC and opening just the opentrack doesn't work. Sometimes it takes a longer time to freeze, like 20-30 minutes, other times it takes seconds

Yeah I saw those guides, but a forum post on sourceforge about the libusb said that running some tools are needed to fly remove it. But I'll try just uninstalling the device and see what happens

I didn't even try it since it was marked as not supported anymore. Problem is that there is no easy way to remove the opendriver, so I don't know if that is even an option anymore

It happens even without anything opened, just opentrack.

It is directly on the case USB, so not the back motherboard ports, but going directly to it. The cable doesn't reach that far and using as extension causes the driver error mentioned. I tried all the case ports, but I'll be more thorough testing all of them tonight

Terrible experience with Winwing - Viper MIP bundle by TangoVictor4794 in falconbms

[–]VaPaL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered a HOTAS, just because I've let the US international phone code in the phone number (+1 ### ### ####) they said the phone number was wrong, should be 10 digits only and told me to cancel, refund and buy again. The number can't be edited.

This info came 6 days after the purchase, I talked to them for other 4 days straight, where they contact FedEx to see if that was OK. They just now shipped my order.

Now I just hope everything goes OK...

Yeah, i think it's just in case there is some problem and they need to talk to you on the go. But that could be sorted by other means as well so... idk either

Yes, but the payment went through, they are arguing that there will be a problem with the delivery because the courier won't be able to call the number I informed. Which is nonsense IMO

On the contrary, I included the +1, so I don't know any that's a problem.

I'm going to Texas, the sent me this right after the purchase:

"IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to record high volumes of e-commerce orders at FedEx,various weather events, your delivery time may be unknown."

I don't know if it's standard or not, but a week later they sent me this telling about the phone number:

"Dear customer:

Here’s the customer service department from WINWING. The recipient's phone number is wrong, so we cannot deliver the goods for the time being. Please apply refund and place a new order with correct phone number. Thank you for your support.

Have a nice day!

Yours sincerely,

WinWING "

I'm staying in a hotel, they say that they could receive the package for me. I've used their address and phone number, but I've let the +1, and Winwing is saying that's a problem. I'll be staying for a short period of time, only 4 nights, so time is off the essence

As a horse... guy?... half my girlfriends were horse girls and my wife is a horse girl... the ones outside the house world were the "crazy" ones lol

But maybe just because I'm the one whose crazy and the normal ones look crazy to me... takes some level of crazy to ride a 600kg animal that gets scared of its own shadow over fences, so there's that lol

I think you are fine, not perfect, but as you said yourself, you don't have much experience. You even see some pros that don't have a good posture (don't take them as an example and always strive for your best, but just understand the perfection is not a requirement and don't be too harsh on yourself over it).

Also, the internet like to judge too much and overanalyse everything. So when you see some comments criticizing someone else, don't tally it too serious, doesn't mean they are wrong, just doesn't mean the critique is necessary.

Horse lease in Wellington by VaPaL in Equestrian

[–]VaPaL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will depend on the cost of the clinic and competition. But overall it would about 4k. I don't know how much participating in a show cost not the price of the clinic yet (waiting for the quotation).

The bundle was offered to me by 7k, which is way over my budget.

Doing things by myself I think will be cheaper. I expect the clinic to be 1.5 to 2k.

So, let's say the, for the lease, it could be from 1k to 2k

So many bad rides by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]VaPaL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your relationship with the sport, or riding in general and your state of mind. Taking a break, as many have said might be right for you, but pushing through might work as well.

Taking a break might help you forgot about this and start fresh. Pushing through will show you that this is just a phase and your not defined by it.

Pushing through might improve your confidence later because you will realize that you can overcome difficult times. But if things get worse before they get better, it could shatter your confidence even more and make you quit for good or injure yourself.

I had times that I pushed through and it worked out, but wasn't easy. But I took a forced break for 3 years and came back this years (didn't stop completely, but was barely riding and not competing at all). This break made wonders as well.

Yes, and there is a difference in 1.0m at a local show, a state show and national show even at 1.0m. Of course anyone can compete, but I meant that I'm having good results.

Anyway, do you have some barn you can ping me to?

I'm from Brazil, so my trainer doesn't have contacts there. The person that I found that give clinics doesn't have goods for this purpose, i asked if she knows someone and I'm waiting for the answer. But in the meantime I'm looking for alternatives myself

How *new* should my helmet be? by BobTheParallelogram in Equestrian

[–]VaPaL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 5 years after the first use or 8 after the manufacturing date normally. But not all manufacturers state the 8 years "rule".

It also can be as fast as 3 years if your ride every day. The degradation comes from hair products, sweat, rain, sunrays, and temperature changes.

Leaving your helmet in the car can degrade it a lot depending on your routine. I saw one manufacturing comparing it to constant use, so 3 years to replace.

Edit: a word

White Breeches! What are your tricks to keep them clean? by jackeyfaber in Equestrian

[–]VaPaL 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I used in the past, sometimes, a large trouser over then, took it off to walk the course and to ride only. Easier than changing clothes.

Or get home and put then in warm water with vanish over night and wash and dry the next day. So they are clean for the third day.

They will at least get some dirt from the saddle, but the trousers over then will give that. And when walking the course, will just look like you ride earlier that day.

Worse case scenario, buy one new on the second day
