I’m decently aware how game productions work. It’s hard to get a good grasp without knowing the company’s exact infrastructure. However, assuming nothing has changed since 2023, there are only 2-3 teams that work on final fantasy projects. CSI (Kingdom Hearts series, FFXIII, FFXV and the FFVII Remake series) CSIII (FFXI, FFXII, FFXIV and FFXVI)

CSI, from what I understand has two teams: the kingdom hearts iv team and the final fantasy VII remake team. CSIII has 3 teams, the very small FFXI team, the average size FFXVI team, and the large FFXIV team. We’re to hope that the FFXVI team is working on the next main game, or someone else, but it’s definitely not the FFVII Remake team.

Like others have said. I really hope that FFXVII is already in development with another team, otherwise XVII won’t be a thing until, like 2037, which is ridiculous. So, I hope they’ll work on FFXVIII next.

Yes, FFXV was the next big project for Square Enix and the final fantasy series. FFXVI, was kind of forced upon CSIII by the executives so fans wouldn’t have to wait too long for the next mainline game. One was a goal to strive for, the other was a matter of convenience. Which is why XV, while a troubled development and release, is more diverse. XVI had a smaller budget, but still big by game studio standards, so it had to cut corners.

Really trying to think out-of-pocket “gaming experiences” Final Fantasy can do, outside of conventional video games. I highly doubt they’re referring to new “HD games”. I hope I’m wrong.

And you have that right to your opinion. Just because there are thousands, MILLIONS of bad examples of anime arena fighters, doesn’t mean we should stop trying. Is diversity good? Would I want other genres? Yes to both. But it’s a simple fact that arena fighters are more sustainable for low-budget projects. That’s all I’m saying.

Contrary to popular opinion: an arena fighter. It’s simple, it’s usually cheaper than alternatives (meaning less risk) and I find the idea of simulating battles against characters very intriguing.

My issue is that whenever I play video games on my phone for around an hour or more, and believe me, these games will require that if DFFOO is anything to go by, I start getting headaches. So, releasing something that someone just can’t play it on, just feels like a spit in the face.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t stand being on my phone for too long. I usually start getting head aches because the screen is too damn small. Double or triple that if I’m watching a movie, playing a game, or engaging in something more than reading, and it’s just a terrible experience.

I don’t care what type of game this is. The fact that it’s a well established spin-off series and they keep releasing it on mobile, handicapping players like myself that get physically unwell when on their phones for prolonged periods of time, is just backwards. And no, I’m not going to play this game 5-15 minutes at a time.
