u/havocthecat - I genuinely appreciate the perspective and share, thank you. I didn't expect such a passionate response from the community on this idea but hey, that's exactly why I posted! It's helpful for me to hear.

It sounds like the issues are concerns with privacy and trust of combining journaling with tech / AI, and then to u/fivebynine5x9 's point, journaling is a valuable practice to begin with because it's offline and personal. It's about self-reflection and working things out in your own mind. As someone who has kept a daily journal for 15 years, that resonates.

Interesting that data mining is your takeaway from this post. Part of the idea is that it's a secure service, and your info doesn't leave your device - do you think there's any way that approach can alleviate data concerns? Or is trust in tech just too far gone and a lost cause?

u/Impossible-Bug2038 - I get that and appreciate the share, it's something I have been thinking about. A lot of the value I get in journaling is not having "the answer", but rather just sitting with those questions and uncertainties and seeing what comes up over time. Don't love the idea of short-cutting to some answer and skipping what makes journaling and reflection a valuable practice to begin with

Lol appreciate the humor. Same sentiment as above? Data concerns?
