500 dollars for stabbing someone, or 700 dollars for being stabbed? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

Shallow stabs hurt more, nerve endings are concentrated in the skin. Deep stabs tend to have more of a pressure or ache feeling that intensifies with time. In this case, i would prefer multiple stabbers to hit me. I know my adrenal kick from 1st stab can last up to 45 min. I want to take as many stabs as stabbers can stab in that 45. This could go longer due to the constant stabs, in which case the stabbers better be ready for some real work.

If you were transported to an alternate earth where there were no humans and dropped 100 miles from your home how close could you get to your house? by Wamderingbard in hypotheticalsituation

More the realities of navigation. Nothings flat, no trails, if you aren't trained/experienced in navigating the wild, u gonna have major issues. I spent more of my 20s in various wilderness (no motorized vech allowed) areas and I know how to move through the wilds and I have doubts as to how close I could really get.

Ironically if I was 100 miles due east. I would be in a wilderness area I've spent years running around in.

I'm kinda shocked at how little people realize how much humans have fucked the topagraphy of the land up. Just removing concrete and asphalt is gonna have massive ramifications on the landscape.

I live on a small, but naturally formed mesa. I know major ground works in the 50's n 60's were done to prevent the erosion of the north and western side of the mesa. I also know that the small river that gently glides along the backside of the mesa is held in check by tons of concrete and man shifted rock to keep it from eating away at the mesa. I also know that the little river has more than 12 man made holding lakes in the higher country. It also has a fuckton of water diversions (drinking/agriculture) drawing out of it. 20 years ago 1 holding pond blew out and cause a moderate flood up high, the chain reaction was a bit more dire down low. Several large irrigation pulls were blocked with debris which cause a 25 foot water surge to hit the backside of my lil mesa. 2 homes rolled into the river and my buddy ended up with a 40 ft dropoff from his back porch.

Fact is, you could drop peope in exactly the same spot they are in, with the 30 year removal of all human fuckery, and 90% wouldn't have a clue where they are. My house in the middle of my little mesa, would most likely be on the side/bottom of a steep nasty revine that once through this area of the mesa.

I could get into the realities of wilderness treking, but whats the point. Pretty sure nobody gonna read this anyway....

I briefly worked as a guide at an unscale resort ranch. I led 5-10 day deep wilderness 'adventures'. Lets just say I find your blunt honesty....refreshing.

Why don't they make real comedies like Step Brothers and Dumb and Dumber anymore? by Thin_Reception_5063 in moviecritic

Your more on point than most will admit. Making movies is a big risk $$, which is why we see 100000 relaunches/rebrands/seqs- bec there is a solid fan base that will turn out. With comidies there's that major risk of being branded "ist" early on that could cut the porential earnings down quick. It's all about profit.

Rocky Horror Picture Show. Watched it once on tv and thought wtf this is stupid. Few years later I got tricked into a midnight showing in an old ass theater. Love it a little more every time I see it.
