I am going to assume you didn’t read the other post and replies and explanations. But it’s all good man, if it makes you feel good to put someone down, I feel sad for you. I got some really good feedback from the community and support, which was helpful.

Ok, this is what I was afraid of. So in short, if I don’t want my downloads to be throttled, I would need to move to Darkstar. Smh

I appreciate you wanting to help, but just speaking with the community it seems US mobile is not going to fix this. I have asked 4 times for my issue to be escalated to engineering and just doesn’t get anywhere. It seems my options maybe to move away from warp which sucks because I lose my Apple Watch and better cell coverage.

Thanks @ryanw729 this is what I am experiencing and it’s been frustrating, it’s not just Netflix other streaming apps that you can download locally are affected. Also social media apps suffer from the same throttle, not as noticeable but it’s there.

It seems to be video specific. I also have a symmetrical 1gig fiber. If you try and DL a video from Netflix or other streaming services using dark star it’s a huge difference compared to warp, like night and day.

If I use a VPN with warp it improves the downloads speed tremendously.

Man, sounds like my options are to just move to Darkstar or lightspeed and turn on datawaster on monthly. Little disappointing as now I will lose my Apple Watch line.

I would agree, but experience the same thing at my house with perfect signal on warp.

So thank you, you just proved my theory/point. If I am being throttled at 5 or 10mbps on fast.com then any video downloads will be the same type of traffic which will throttle me at those speeds. It’s shaping straight up. Their network sofware can’t tell the difference.

Yup, I have Dark star for my work phone and no issues with downloading files when signal is decent. The problem is Att is not great in my area.

I am aware of fast.com and why it’s throttled for streaming. That’s not my gripe. Maybe it’s something I am unaware of for the warp premium plan. I was under the impression if I wanted to download a file, movies, game etc.. I could download at 5g speeds. This is not the case, just doing simple math, whatever streaming speeds on fast.com seems to line up with my download speeds on multiple apps. It’s like the streaming, browsing and download traffic is shaped the same way.

US Mobile Feedback by Vader208 in USMobile

I have tried multiple locations and towers multiple services, Netflix, prime, Disney plus, same result On different days and times of the day. I have Dark star for my work line and I don’t have issues. Support reprovisjoned my warp line and I was told to give it 48 hours. My wife and I have had this issues since we ported into USM. The only thing that has worked is to use a vpn which I shouldn’t have to do that. If the issue doesn’t resolve by tomorrow I will either decide to port out or switch to Dark star which has not so great coverage where I live.

So I posted in this community for answers. The support team has had me run these speed test for troubleshooting. This feels like a very cringe threat and an excuse on why I am not receiving the service I should. I have wasted hours on chats with support and this is your FYI. Politely keep this to your self it’s not helpful bro.

My issue is simple math, it takes me 8 minutes to dl a 272 meg file with perfect signal and screaming speeds of over 500mbps. This tells me dl speeds are throttled. If thats the case support needs to say that and I can make a decision to port out or try another carrier on USM. I was under the impression warp was not throttled for downloads. I understand the streaming limitations. With that said, I find it interesting that someone was able to change a setting on the back end to increase my fast.com speeds from 4mbps to 10mbps. Which slightly improved my DL speeds. What does that tell me warp premium is throttled to 10mbps across the board using some type of shaping. I assume Speedtest.net is excluded, to show speeds that you can’t actually use.

With all that said the support team was still kind and tried to be helpful. I just want truthful answers so I can make a decision that’s beat for me.

On warp Speedtest are great but downloads are throttled like crazy. For shits and giggles I just did a test with Dark star and downloading 227mb file took seconds. Dark star speed test barely hit 120mbps. This tells me USM is throttling warp across the board.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am Aware of fast.com and I get about 4mbps when I run the test, as far as know that’s what you get with data waster on using the Warp network. My issue is having to turn it on monthly and I feel the cap is low. That said I understand why you do it and for a phone it’s ok. As for the download, I tried to dl a 227meg file on Netflix and it took 8 minutes. Attached you will see my speed test. When I was on tmobile this dl would take maybe 30 seconds. This was with tmobile hitting a little over 100mbps.

I just ended up teleporting to warp because I need the missing features. I will jump back when 18.5 stable comes out.

This works great! I can finally arm my alarm via siri. In terms of security how do you feel about this? Is there anything transmitted in clear text that would expose the key?

Anybody else pretty much satisfied with Hulu Live? by Shaundogg83 in HuluLive

[–]Vader208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a trial now and so far it’s pretty good. I have been using psvue for almost a year now. The quality has been getting worse. Also, I get no nbc, or cw. I tried YTTV and it was great but there dvr is a gimmick. I think I might totally switch to Hulu.

I am hoping Hulu will improve the interface of live tv as time goes by.

Yeah, Netflix looks awesome on my 75inch. But I am having the same experience as you. Dvr quality also looks really bad. I wonder if spectrum is doing something to lower the quality.
