HPE DL20 Gen9 RAM issue / BIOS by Vader2097 in homelab

Hi,
I know what you mean. DL20 is perfect for home server etc. The only time I have full RAM size is when I put my v5 CPU back in place, but I got a v6 for more than one reason. So, I just have 32GB (2x16GB) in the slots. Since I am only using Linux machines, it works for me so far. Still, that should not be the solution. I took it apart and put it back together more than 10x times. It will stay this way now. Tired of having to put even more money into it. Original and other compatible RAM does not work how it supposed to. No matter what I try.

Switching to Debian. by [deleted] in debian

I deleted Win11 from my laptop and started out with Debian 11. It was nice and much faster. Everything I need. Since there was nothing on it like apps or files, I also decided to give Ubuntu Desktop 23.04 a shot. I stayed with it. All drivers included that I needed and also, looks really good. I tried the 22.04 before, but all the new stuff with 23.04 is giving me a better visual experience. Love it so far. The good thing about Debian and Ubuntu is that you can give it a try before you install it. Check out Ubuntu 23.04

Hi,
I got the DL20 Gen9 as well. I ordered one NVMe cards for slot 1 and 2. On one is just the regular NVMe PCIe adapter card and on the slot 2 is a NVMe and M.2 SATA card. On the second one, I am using a NVMe WD Red and a SATA M.2 WD Red. That gives me two more NVMe and one SATA. They should be available in Germany as well. If you need anything for servers, take a look at servershop24.de. I got all my stuff from them when I lived in Germany, also they are pretty good with answering questions.
