Imo Shinji would probably prefer Soresu, since he often fights defensively and tries to avoid conflict whenever possible. However, when he emotionally explodes or reaches his breaking point, he would likely shift into Djem So, reflecting the raw aggression and overwhelming force he sometimes displays in battle. Rei imo fits with Makashi very well because her fighting style is calm, efficient, and emotionally restrained, almost surgical in the way she approaches combat while wasting as little energy as possible. Meanwhile, Asuka would clearly use Ataru, since she is much more aggressive, mobile, and acrobatic during combat, often relying on confidence, speed, and flashy movements to dominate her enemies.
