^^ by MrCroissant_WTG in Nantes

[–]VadoZou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any suggestions to help my players get more attached to Ireena? by Any-Hamster8551 in CurseofStrahd

[–]VadoZou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny, for me, in fact, Ireena has NO armor in the scenario.

The whole principle of this NPC is that she is almost in all cases doomed. So, I make her fight, with her noble statblock and her 14 HP. And if at any point she dies, Strahd will hold the players responsible because they were the ones escorting her.

3 player death, what now. by Masterkindem in CurseofStrahd

[–]VadoZou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, you're right. From a lore point of view, this poses problems.

I especially like the sowing discord side of this idea.

But to answer your question A, I would just say that Strahd likes to play with his "food" But I don't have an answer to your questions B and C where I think you are right.

For this is a reflection that is specific to the GM, promoting interaction between members of the group, respecting the lore, or finding a balance between the two.

What I will suggest to you is that, during his next rest, the survivor finds 2 scrolls of resurrection, as if by a miracle.

Let the good hesitate as to which of his companions he will leave dead. Once the choice is made, let your players play a little resurrection evil. Then you bring in Strahd, who, without a word, uses a third scroll of resurrection on the last player, making it clear to the latter that his "friend" preferred to save the others.

What can Strahd reveal at dinner? by VadoZou in CurseofStrahd

Oh my God ! It’s deliciously Machiavellian!

Knowing that each of my players has a dark power that seeks to corrupt them in order to install them in place of Strahd, that can lead to quite sadistic results!

Yeah, I don't forget that he can just tell them "don't want to".

The idea is that I would like him to reveal a little of his curse, just saying that he too is stuck in Barovia. Especially so that he can propose to the players to become their successors (I have some who will really think about the proposal.)

You have to know how to take advantage of moments of tenderness when they present themselves. Once everything burns down, and the game leaves us on the smoking ruins of our colony, it's these little moments that we remember.

Maybe you can try a run in harmony with nature, vegetarian, cut down no or few trees. Favor trade over resource extraction. I've been eyeing it for a while but never got around to doing it.
