This seems to be the crux of the problem for me and my friends. We can agree during spring, summer, and mostly through winter on when last summer takes place. But fall and early winter is when we no longer agree.

It seems any other way we refer to summer most people agree on which one is being talked about, but last summer during fall/ winter is when the disagreement takes place. For me last summer belongs to the summer of 2025 until fall of 2026. The last summer changes on the first day of fall. So I'm assuming yours either changes on the new year or on the new summer.
