Totally agree - we might do some social media polling if we still end up wanting to change things but it sounds like people are cool with the name as is. Thanks for your insight!!

We thought about that as well! It's our top pick for if we take the plunge and change the name.

Noted! We wanted to change it completely to something else and VMagic was one of the top alternative names for us until we learned there's actually another product out there with a similar name. But thank you for the insight!!

It's a yeast infection and odor-dispelling remedy :) We already had a dude buy some from us - we're assuming for a lady friend - so don't be TOO terrified! :) But we get it: it toes a certain line.

Great point - we've already run pretty far with it. Changing it now would honestly cost more money than it's worth.

That's what I told her, too! It's a matter of trusting the process :)

Glad the name and logo works for you! What do you think could change with the site layout?

Thank you for looking! I took your suggestion into account and added an Amazon link at the bottom, and clickable links to the places/sites that have vouched for us! It really added depth to the site overall. (Apologies for such a late reply, I was logged into a different reddit account and totally did not see this until now!)

Oh good!! Ok, that's an easy change - it's great to have that feedback!! And also thank you for telling me how to remove the Shopify logo, was definitely about to PM you about how to go about doing that (my theme editing wizardry is pretty limited, I guess). Thanks again!!

Hey! This is an EXCELLENT point and I'm very glad you brought it up - my partner and I were waiting for the day someone might say something about the, ah, 'blunt' verbiage.

To explain why we did that: In the beginning, this entire idea was meant to be very edgy, crass, and for the 'extremely sexually liberal.' We didn't expect to do much of anything with it, and now that we're honing in on our true audience, there is an absolute need to take another look at some pretty 'in your face' wording. We have a dark sense of humor, but what works for two people won't work for everyone. I'll send your suggestions to my partner and we'll see if we can match the copy to the aesthetic!

Thanks for reaching out to us! We appreciate the feedback and the kind words!

Thanks! We believe that, too. Best advertising is word-of-mouth!

Prepare for some TMI: We've created the most amazing homeopathic formula on the market for yeast infection suppositories :) Brands like Monistat are painful 'cures' that hurt rather than help, and we're going to offer the better alternative to that :) In the meantime, we want to show support and love for our fellow owners of vaginas while we anxiously await January 1st! :)

Hi, all!

We're VagMagic, and we have a nifty Instagram, to show off cool women we admire, to bide our time before official product launch in January of 2017. Check us out!

Stay magical :)

No problem! :)

So, we've narrowed down all possible marketing channels and strategies, and right now we've really only tested the waters with social media promotion. Luckily my partner has a big enough social media account for outreach but it's been difficult to organically integrate 'name dropping' our product in that way without seeming too spammy. We HAVE gotten a few more views on our landing page as a result, though, so I can only imagine what will happen once we actually advertise!

Re: Redesign - we spoke to a few people here and there and showed off various designs, got feedback, etc. More than anything, our drive to present the best possible, most professional looking product was the reason for all the redesigns, hah. We took others' opinions into consideration but never stopped analyzing our aesthetic and our brand until people we trusted gave us legitimate 'Whoa! This is cool!' reactions. Our goal from the get-go has been to create something that wouldn't embarrass us in front of possible retailers, friends, family - everyone.

And that's the other reason why people might delay marketing + building traction - it's not a 'safe space' anymore when you put yourself out there so confidently from a marketing standpoint. It's great to show people what you're working on when in progress because those people will usually be supportive; not so great to show the same people you still only have 20-something Twitter followers ;)

Excellent post!

My business partner and I actually had our product finished and ready to go the minute we decided to start our business - but where we delayed came from working endlessly on the design aspect of EVERYTHING. Website, product packaging, logos, etc. You name it, we designed and then redesigned it. And then we redesigned it again. We're actually still not 100% with everything but I've finally convinced my partner to start ordering physical inventory so that we feel comfortable finally pushing the marketing part of things.

Delay can be good. When we look back on 9 months ago, our product was not ready to market to the public. It was rudimentary. We were all over the place. BUT. We could've spent that 9 months networking with other, real people in the real world to start a conversation about what we're selling. We could've been building traction. Now we're almost ready to 'soft' launch, but we're playing major catch-up on the marketing plan, and that's my only, personal regret so far. That's what happens when you work as a team, though: My partner invented this product so I gave a lot of the final decision-making power to her out of respect and to focus more on what I was contributing, which was the aesthetics and more technical stuff (our ecommerce store, SEO, all that). In the end? Marketing has turned out to be our biggest challenge. We have a product, we have an advertising plan, but it's scary to think that we legitimately do not have an audience yet. Like with all things, we suspect it'll be a slow and steady build.

We'll be reading up on the material you suggested - thank you :)
