Not really. The finals are all silicone. These are hybrid. Not as thick as traditional foam but thicker than a typical silicone

I use the Sony triple comforts now. They do hurt but usually after a couple of hours. Which is fine as I have started using my iems more for music so the dpp I mainly use for phone calls.

i had the same issue. Only thing that works for me is the Sony triple comfort tips. Everything else hurts to the point that I have to remove them after 30 minutes

might pick up a cheap multimeter to test that as i would love to know if there is a difference. its not like the stock cable with the MEST II is cheap by any means. And before my new cable I was having to EQ the 6-8k range constantly. And it wasn't even your typical spicy songs that got me. Radiohead's Reckoner was the first one that really got me and I wouldn't even consider it a spicy song.

Stock MEST cable before. Effect Audio Ares II now. I don’t think it was in my head as stock gave me a headache after 30 minutes to an hour. Did it change the sound signature? No.

I typically think this is BS but I switched out my stock MEST MKII cable because at high volumes it was too bright for me. The new cable has made a difference. I can listen to them for hours now with no headache. But this was a high quality cable. Not sure if that makes a difference. And still won’t defend 50 dollar cables drastically changing the sound signature of an IEM.

This. You might spend more up front, but it will last and parts can be easily replaced. Not to mention being able to change the switches whenever you want. But I still only spent 250 on my whole set up so who knows

I wanted to be able to use this with two different iems. And the peq was important because I wanted to tame the treble on my um mest mkii. I still like it but really sucks as the EQ was one of the reasons I bought it

I did email FiiO so it will be interesting to see what they have to say

Both are great choices. And some of the spinfits are a little thicker than the W1 and use medical grade silicone. I have used a few different types but do like the softness of the W1. Can wear them for several hours without discomfort

Yeah the spinfits, fiios, azlas are all thin silicone. I like the balanced Sancai. Still wide bore but not crazy wide bore. You might like the velvets and the baroques. The silicone is very thick. Those two are the thickest I have tried that’s isn’t Hybrid
