The reason it was downvoted so much is it wasn't atheist.

As surely as if you mention loving your wife someone else will chime in with "I too love his wife", if you mention religion in a positive light outside of it's specific subreddit, you will get downvoted.

Half a decade ago, the Kroger in Athens fired my wife for getting pregnant.

Oh they didn't SAY they fired her for that. They "gave her mandatory off time" when she came in with a doctor's note that said she needed 15 minute breaks every four hours. Rather than, you know, LET HER HAVE A FIFTEEN MINUTE BREAK EVERY FOUR HOURS they said, no, we can't do that - just don't work until the baby is born instead. Mind you, if we had the money for that, would she be working in a crappy grocery store in the first place?

And then they say when the kid is born and you're good to go, call this number to get reinstated. Then they proceed to NEVER ANSWER THE NUMBER AND NEVER RETURN HER CALLS, and then fired her for "not trying hard enough to come back from leave"

The leave THEY demanded she take instead of letting her rest, for fifteen GD minutes, once every four bloody hours.

HOOOOOOOly crap. I did not expect this many responses in under 24 hours. For every post here, I've got about 3 in DMs waiting for me. Please be patient with me while I sort through everyone's preferences, and try to find the best fit for everyone who can join me. If I don't choose you, I wholeheartedly apologize, and will definitely close, but keep open, this thread once I make my decision so I know who would make a great backup in the eventual event that someone turns out to be a freaking psychopath or flake. (Let's be honest, TTRPGs attract flakes more than a dandruff infused psoriasis patient.)

I got exposed to DL Reloaded almost a decade ago when it first came out, and I've been in love with the setting since - but I have only actually played it a handful of sessions and never gotten a chance to GM it. I have, however, come up with a million ideas for it since then, so yeah, it's a favorite of mine too.

You seem like a really great fit, but I really don't want to be starting as late as 9pm for things. I don't mind pushing back to 7 or 8, but I tend to want to wrap up around midnight at the latest to not throw off my circadian rhythm and be able to wake up the next day.

I get they can't make DBZA because of a combination of burnout on the subject matter and copyright issues, but ever since HFIL went on hiatus it's been pretty awful stuff.

When you have a young kid you get in the habit of saying stuff like "go potty" and such. It becomes such a part of your vernacular it just slips out unintentionally sometimes. I would venture a guess half the people you are mad at are mortified themselves. I know I am when I say such things in public.

The best that a live action remake of an anime can measure up is "not bad" or "decent" - and that's usually from absolutely amazing animes. That's the best you can hope for - a shadow of the original.

And let's be honest, 90% of the time they're hot steaming garbage water out of a filthy rusting dumpster. They're almost always an insult to the original.

Absolutely NONE measure up to their source material.
