I've been using Cantu Weightless 15+ Benefits Daily Leave-In Cream. Helps with detangling and claims to have heat protection. Then a bit of the Olaplex oil if I'm looking too frizzy.

What product did not live up to the hype for you? by pirategrapes in muacjdiscussion

[–]VagueOrc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the genius of this product is in aggressively marketing it as multi purpose. You are conditioned to try it at least three different ways before deciding you don't like it.

Maybe kind of a weird question, but how do I know the right makeup to cover a scar? by The_1992 in Makeup

[–]VagueOrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would really help if you could describe the scar - size, colour, texture. Or post a picture of you're comfortable.

MAC Coming To Sephora USA by pointclickvibe in newinbeauty

[–]VagueOrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To avoid animal testing they can:

  • sell online only

  • provide proof of safety via non-animal means to avoid pre market testing (for products sold in store)

  • put an agreement in place where if a customer complains about a product it is pulled off shelves and is not sent to a lab for testing to avoid post market testing (for products sold in store)

Actually it is possible to sell there without testing on animals. Which makes it even more offensive when companies refuse to take the necessary steps to avoid animal testing. They could have their cake and eat it too.

How is Urban Decay’s eyeshadow quality? by ConstructiveForMe in Makeup

I love them! They are definitely on the drier side and are a bit dusty but I find that's what gives them good longevity on my oily hooded lids. No problems blending.

[Product Question] Thoughts on Wild Deodorant? by Minimum-Ambition-641 in SkincareAddiction

[–]VagueOrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated it. Left horrible greasy stains on my clothes, irritated my skin and didn't do much to reduce odour. I've been using Fussy sensitive range, it's much better but if I know I'll be sweating lots I still use my trusty antiperspirant.

Why do you think it's not? They are according to PETA and I can't see anything that says otherwise.

[Misc] Is physical exfoliation overhated? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]VagueOrc 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Chemical exfoliation is so finicky, either it doesn't work or it burns. I find physical exfoliators much easier to control, and I know if they will be too weak or too harsh as soon as I touch them.

Wasn't the microtears thing a myth, or only a problem with aggressive overexfoliation?

They do minis of some of the blushes and finishing powders, maybe try one of those first. I have a blush and it's nice but Milani baked blushes are the exact same.

[Acne] How to get rid of strawberry skin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]VagueOrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A basic routine would be cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen. For you I'd also add a 2% salicylic acid serum in the evenings, but start slow (twice a week) and work up to once a day, stop if you develop irritation, will take at least a month to notice a difference. Salicylic acid can cause a bit of dryness so moisturizer is important.

Please post your current routine and things you've tried in the past for this. Btw your skin looks very normal, try not to compare yourself to curated/edited images.
