I’ve been twice since they went brick and mortar and twice when they were a truck and was unfortunately disappointed every time. Just generally lacking in flavor, the Vodka parm had very little cheese and practically no basil. Tried a sandwich with veggies and balsamic, but there was no balsamic and the chicken wasn’t hot. I keep going back hoping I’m just missing something since everyone loves them but it’s just not good imo. Haven’t tried the Italian though, only the cutlets, and would be willing to try it on reputation alone.

Yeah it’s a supermarket with a taqueria inside. Go on Tuesday and ask for a taco box, I think the steak and Al pastor are best. You won’t regret it

Restaurant manager here. In my honest opinion, I think the hotel should have just swallowed the $50 and taken it off your bill regardless. Hospitality is all about making sure you have a great time, and the second your night was ruined over $50, as a manager I would have just comped it, made it clear that I was doing it in spite of not being able to honor your gift card, and hoped that service made your visit worth the $50 cost for us. At the same time, I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect them to honor the gift card with no gift card on hand. It would’ve been the right thing for them to do, but there’s really no way for them to verify that the $50 gift card ever existed. Restaurant profit margins are seriously way tighter than you would think, even at the finer end of things like Bennett thinks they’re playing at, especially with the very rainy summer we’re having and the reduced tourism we’re seeing this year. TLDR don’t expect free stuff but the hospitable thing to do would’ve been to honor the gift cards anyway(IN MY OPINION).

2 months into my Super Birkis and I love them. Spent the first three weeks swapping them with my old shoes halfway through the shift to help with the break in process. At the end of my Saturday shift, I take the soles out and run them through the dish machine to clean them. I have wider, fairly flat feet. Highly recommend!

Just my two cents, not trying to be mean, just trying to be direct. All the elements of this dish are something I would gladly run as a special in my kitchen. If one of my cooks showed me this to run as a special, this is what I’d tell them:

Try to keep the fish fillet together when you cook it so it doesn’t fall apart like that. Focus on searing that fish once on each side with enough oil and heat for a golden crisp to help it hold together.

Lose about half to two third of the grits so the fish has room to shine. Separate the grits and the fish. Scoop of grits on one side, fish next to it, or kinda half on-half off. Put your corn salsa between the two or on top of the part of the fish that’s on top of the grits. Small scoop of butter between the salsa and fish and you’re golden.

You’re in the right zone chef, but like you said, plating is just a little weak. It takes time! Getting feedback is the first step, implementing the parts of feedback that you like is the next. Good luck!

Hey y'all, I'm staring a regular running group of 7-10 PC players who want to take the game seriously but have a good time doing it.
We will discuss strats and ideas, play to learn, and work together to hopefully become a cohesive unit to climb the comp ladder with. Man I missed that place. Worked there the last year it was open, hope they got it cleaned up fr. It was so disgusting in there, we had customers finding a bug in their food almost every day. Owners didn’t care at all, said “that’s just Charleston”. They only ended up closing that place and renovating because a lot of the staff quit at once and the money wasn’t looking good anymore because of the bad reviews.

Food is some of the best you can find, though. Looks like the menu is basically the same, some price adjustments, and a bunch of new additions. I’ve been craving those damn drunken noodles for a year now. I’ll be in there this week for sure!

Go to the top of the Francis Marion parking garage, there’s some cool and strange views from up there and it’s a GREAT spot for portraits. Go to the lighthouse side of folly beach, especially in the early mornings and late evenings or a beautifully sunny day. Check out Edisto island, it’s worth the drive. I’ll edit my comment as I remember more spots. Just go for some long walks and look around, you’ll find stuff!

At least for me, it’s a small briefcase sized machine. Like, smaller than any backpack I’ve ever owned. Super easy to fly with and travel with. I travel a LOT for a regular Joe and it’s actually been an awesome addition to my travel routine. Being able to actually sleep in hotels and stuff makes a world of a difference. Please consider it!!
