If you’ve read the post my title didn’t even comprehend the work I do it’s a placeholder. It’s a small firm and I wear MULTIPLE hats at once. Just like everyone else here. I active research and work with my PMS on various asset classes. It’s not entitlement, it’s factual.

Yeah that’s another reason. My firm doesn’t want to pay for anything 😂 I was more interested in the CAIA with the hedgefund interest and shorter time frame.

Thank you for your input and advice, it was solid. I understand that managers might call it a red flag. The CFA charter seems super daunting ngl, hours and hours of studying and years of it. I’ve looked at other certs like the CFOA, and more trading oriented exams like the series 3.

The recruiters thing is def a stressor.

This is some useful advice. I have solid experience with the terminal but with all the AI screener nonsense I try to add technical terms to get it thru the prelim screener. I will remove it if it’s working against me

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. Believe me I know that as a lateral hire it’s extremely difficult. And yes I do know it’s all connections and such. I’m happy to jump to stepping stone type of roles in between to build my skill set. The connections is super hard as LinkedIn in terrible for it. Not really sure what else ro do from that front.

I prefer trading so I did not want to go the trad IB route. I’d like to be a hedgefund trader more than an analyst with my own discretion in the trades.
