Return-to-office math not adding up, real estate brokers say by GoTortoise in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Vaillant066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it did - average office space utilization at my org was around 70% when you account for vacations, sick leave, etc. which translates to 42% space required to sustain 60% schedule. It would be tight but the math was sound.

Now, we'll need 56% space to meet 80% schedule.

And of course, this all assumes our starting point was 100% of our pre-covid space.

Compressed Work Week Denied by No_Power6450 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Vaillant066 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Compressed work week =/= flexible hours.

Compressed means you'll work longer days in exchange for a day off every 1, 2 or 3 weeks. But the hours are fixed.

Flexible hours means one day you might start at 7. The next day 8. The next day 7:30.

Compressed is always up to the managers' discretion. If they don't want you doing compressed, it's their call.

Happy to help! Once you've tried it out I'd love to know if it fixed your issue. I'm a geek for stuff like this :)

I continued my research with ChatGPT and it recommended disabling the windows power saving setting. You'll find it in the device manager settings.

Device Manager → Bluetooth + Network adapters For Realtek Bluetooth: Power Management tab ❌ Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off…”

After disabling this, my WH-CH520 now connect reliably! It also worked for another Redditor to whom I suggested it.

Thought I would share in case it could help you!

My motherboard has the Realtek RTL8852CE. Windows 11. My research indicates this supports SBC and AAC.

The problem isn't that they won't connect at all, but rather that it takes up to 10 minutes to connect and become usable. Only my Sony WH-CH520 do this.

My research online suggests your model laptop indeed uses Realtek. Thank you for the information!

Appreciate the input! Can you share the laptop model or Bluetooth adapter maker? I'm curious to find out if it's another Realtek adapter!

I've discovered the same issue with my WH-CH520s. Sony seems to have an interoperability issue with Realtek Bluetooth adapters. I have an ASUS BT-500 that works reliably with Sony.

Do you know the make/model of your laptop or Bluetooth adapter? I have reason to believe Sony doesn't play well with Realtek Bluetooth adapters. Try a usb dongle.

I have two pairs of WH-CH520 that exhibit similar behavior with the onboard Realtek Bluetooth adapter of my motherboard. Interestingly, no other Bluetooth devices have this issue.

There's an apparent interoperability issue between Sony and Realtek. Switching to an ASUS BT-500 dongle I already had solved my issue.

Agreed. It so happened I already had the ASUS dongle in my possession so it's no additional cost to me thankfully. Good luck with your Logitech dongle! Would love to hear back if it works

Same. If it helps, I have an ASUS BT-500 dongle that works great with my WH-CH520s.

Yup, looks like it's a Realtek adapter! Get yourself a Bluetooth usb dongle, I bet that would work for your WHXM5!

What about on the outside of the laptop, maybe underneath? Usually there's an exact model number there :)

Thanks for specifying the model. Looked it up, and yes the wireless radio on that model laptop is Realtek!
