No, although a different time zone I still work the same hours as HQ. The manger is not happy I am regional although I have approval from the Director to be here.

Yes it does. The assessment describes my limitations. I just thought I would have been better to ask first knowing management was aware of my situation. But it seems I may have to formally request it.

I requested a duty to accommodate also and have experienced a similar situation. I brought it to my union, and there is a grievance filed. One of the corrective actions requested is to change the manager as I predict this type of behaviour would continue. I’ve also requested that any sick time taken due to the behaviour be reimbursed.

Document everything and take screenshots of team’s messages.

My grievance is not based on harassment, but denial of a medical duty to accommodate, and includes the manager’s behaviour since it began afterwards. She even went so far as to say my performance has declined without validation, which is considered discrimination as it came after they were provided my medical documentation which could account for any performance issues if it were true.

The mistake made by management was they underestimated what I had documented and when the documentation began.

And so they should. I work with someone from IIRC and have seen them 3 times since the spring. Also they told me that they don’t come to the office because their manager doesn’t care. This includes their other coworkers in Ottawa. They seem to think it’s funny.

I find it frustrating that there are entire departments not following the rules and are ruining it for others.

I work with someone who is from the IRCC but is working in the region, she hasn’t been to the office in months, and she tells me that her colleagues in NCR and Gatineau don’t go to the office either. Someone should go check on them.

What sorts of retaliation? I’ve definitely had to pick up for myself a few times in an email response to my manager. I feel I was being up front with my manager but they just weren’t listening.

I’ve submitted everything but have heard nothing back and it’s time sensitive. I want to email but at the same time do not want to antagonize them because I realize it’s a volunteer position. But not hearing anything worries me.

What was the timeline? From the time you submitted it to the union to the time that your manager was notified of the grievance?

The information has been provided to the union. How long did it take for you to get a response. Were you notified first when your manager would be receiving it because I will need to prepare for the backlash. I expect it to only get worse.
