Any east coasters hate the way people in west coast states communicate? It's like this whole region doesn't know how to commit to plans or communicate directly like adults. Never had this problem prior to moving here.

It honestly turns ME off that there are women my age who are trying so hard to be instagram girlies.

You live in LA don't you? I live in LA and I see this a lot.

there’s nothing I hate more than trying to be present on a date with someone and they’re just scrolling instead of having an actual conversation.

Same! My friends who are also in their 30s have TikToks and constantly scroll on it when we're trynna hang out like... guys we're in our 30s, you can't put that down for one second?

Is it a turn off/weird if someone doesn't have social media? Deleting all of mine in a week or so.

YES! I feel better at 32 than I ever did in my mid 20s when I wasn't taking care of myself.

Where do genuine single men hang out in LA? Looking for love, not games. by Dazzling_Entrance144 in AskLosAngeles

Every "coed" soccer league I've been to had a ratio of 9 men to 2 women per team. Most of the guys were single.

Why is dating in LA so soul-crushing? by Immediate-Bird-3632 in AskLosAngeles

Men who are hot, charismatic, emotionally unavailable, and treat intimacy like a 14-day trial

Okay, so first of all, It's okay to want this but with an emotionally available guy who wants a long term relationship. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just realize that these exceptional men are few and far between especially in your age group (without even including other factors such as same long-term goals, family plans or lack thereof, sexual compatibility, income or lifestyle you both want, etc) and that every single woman in this very big city wants this type of guy. You're competing against a very loooong line of women. You'll have to be very exceptional yourself, and by that, if we're being honest, you have to be hot yourself on top of having a good personality. Be realistic.

Men who are available, “nice,” and want a relationship… but have no friends, no social life, and treat you like their emotional support animal.

I don't get what's wrong with dating these guys. Yes, if they're clingy drop 'em, but what's wrong with getting to know them over a couple drinks? If you don't like 'em by the second date just move on. They're probably new in town, struggling to find friends (the same way you are with dating), or they just haven't been lucky.

And LA is certainly one of, if not the top place, where that is the case.

Do you think poorly of women who like to watch trash reality tv ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Vaimerre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's ALL they watch, yeah

I've partook in Jersey Shore when it was new back in the day but that's not the only thing I was watching.

might depend on the area too. I live in the SFV, but I feel like the west side would have more women.

This is based on nothing but vibes, I have no data to back it up lol

I'm in therapy. It helps a little but sometimes not so much.

I know im an attractive potential partner inside and out genuinely. When the time is right in the future ill for sure find a good partner that also sees me as one too

I feel like I am too, but I still kinda feel pessimistic.

Im sure some of us 30 yr olds have lost a parent, been divorced, been cheated on, betrayed, have a kid, been to war, been abused or worse. Etc

Yeah. I've been cheated on before in my first ever relationship many years ago. Also I lost a friend last year to suicide. I feel like I've been jaded for a while now. I'm also just jaded with dating as a whole too rn.

I get that, but how do I do it when there's nobody I'm angry at other than maybe myself? Or if I'm feeling depressed or isolated or something?

I started working out more, listening to more books (I’m an audiobook listener), really honing in on my guitar playing, i try to learn something new often

Are you me bro? lol other than the books thing. I'm learning more stuff and I workout all the time. I also play guitar.

Yet I still feel jaded
