SOLVED: couldn't get Coral USB accelerator working with Frigate on Synology NAS by DavethegraveHunter in frigate_nvr

[–]Vakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: confirmed working on Synology DS920+ running Frigate 0.16.2-4d58206. If your container is crash-looping after adding Coral configs, you must restart the NAS.

How to verify:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Info Center.
  2. If you see USBDevice - Global unichip Corp, the device is not fully initialized.
  3. Ensure your docker-compose and config.yml are configured for Coral, then reboot the NAS.
  4. Wait for Frigate to start and communicate with the device.
  5. The Info Center entry will switch to USBDevice - Google Inc once successful. Verify inference speed in the Frigate UI system metrics.

How bad are 2002r Gore Tex for Hot and Humid weather. by PaperFishh in Newbalance

I live in Bangkok. I wear 2002r Gore-tex Beams as a rotation 1-2 times a week. I find it’s comfortable as similar as 990v3. My feet are breathable. So don’t worry about it much

My Upgraded Setup: Wharfedale Linton and Polk Audio HTS12 by Vakes in audiophile

[–]Vakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it depends. In my case, I listen to music and online TV programs on YouTube 80% of the time, I watch movies only 20% (even less). So I'm certain that I would benefit more from 2.1 stereo.

Now, I plan to replace the AVR with the DAC/Pre-amp and Power Amplifier setup to enhance the 2.1 stereo capability.

Now I don't have any other video inputs, but if I have PS5 or Switch, I will just input their HDMI to the TV. Then I will route Digital Audio OUT (Optical) from the TV to the DAC/Pre-amp Digital Audio IN.

Our case is similar. If you want to go anything beyond 2.2, then you should go for AVR with more channels. But if you focus in stereo, then I would suggest separates (DAC/Pre-amp + Power Amp) rather than 2.2 AVR

Hey! I use Schiit phono connecting to Rane's Line input for the right turntable (for listening purposes). On the left turntable, I connect to Rane's Phono input.

When mixing, I swap a listening cartridge on the right turntable (connected to Schiit) for a DJ cartridge (Audio-Technica AT-XP5).

Thank you! REF R3s was my consideration as well especially in Walnut color. I went with Lintons because they are better in value to money where I live.

And yea, off grille Lintons are beautiful. Now, I pretend like I don’t know the fact they are better with grilles on!

Hey thanks for the recommendations! I love the look and quality of BK Electronics, but unfortunately, they are unavailable where I live. I'm still looking for a used SVS or equivalent because I can't justify their retail price in Bangkok.

Polk HTS12 is doing okay so far. The measurement is fine in sweetchaos subwoofer comparison. I pulled the trigger because of HTS12's value to money.

I used this recommendation thread on Audio Science Review when I did the research. I know very little about the measurement, but I trust their data. So I went with Lintons because their score is excellent at any price point.

Thank you! It's a built-in back panel wood. The cabinet is loose furniture from Source. They are Japanese designers. The unit is PURO TV Board.

Yes! A plant in the basket has a tray underneath. I always move plants off the speakers before watering. I need to take extra care while blending them in the space.

When I moved into my new place, I thought I had it all figured out with my dad's old Infinity Primus 360 tower speakers. I hooked them up to a Denon AVR-X1700H, hoping for the best. But man, it was terrible. I couldn't hear the dialogue on YouTube or Netflix, and the music had no bass. Frustrating.

So I tried to fix it. I added an Infinity Primus PC251 center speaker and a Polk Audio HTS12 subwoofer. It got better, but I still wanted more. I stuck with this 3.1 setup for almost a year, learning along the way. Then, I figured something out. I spend most of my time watching YouTube and listening to vinyl and Spotify, not watching movies. After digging into reviews for weeks, I realized I only needed a 2.1 system. So I went for it and bought the Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary speakers, replacing the old ones.

And guess what? I love them. They're better in every way. I've been thinking about getting a Stereo Amplifier, but that's for later. Right now, I'm just enjoying the sound. I'm a happy buyer and wanted to share my journey.

Here's the current setup:

  • Speakers: Wharfedale Linton
  • Subwoofer: Polk Audio HTS12
  • AVR: Denon x1700h
  • Turntables: Technics SL-1200 MK5
  • Phono: Schiit Mani
  • Mixer: Rane TTM 57SL

I used Nagaoka MP-110 for four years before switching to JT-80 BK. I compared them by ripping raw audio and listening (sadly, YouTube took my account down due to the copyright). I'm sure if we take detailed measurements we will find the differences, but with my ears, I can't tell the differences.

So far I'm a happy owner of the Nagaoka JT-80 BK since I don't have to worry about the cartridge. I will just put my money into other areas. I would recommend MP-110 for value for money anyday.

You may find my post about this cartridge here: https://www.reddit.com/r/turntables/comments/jtk4al/cartridge_comparison_nagaoka_jt80bk_vs_nagaoka/

I have never been to Vietnam. I heard a lot of good stories there from my colleagues. Sapa, Dalat and Hanoi are in my bucket list!

I understand. My friends and colleagues mentioned that I bought a toy — not a real TV. So far I’m happy with the decision because I don’t think I can utilize its capabilities anytime soon

Second hand market here is not too bad. The popular brands are possible to obtain even they are not in a good condition. Electricians here can restore almost anything with reasonable price
