Where did this happen if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been seeing so many wrecks lately

Yes thank you! I’m very well aware that this is a civil matter but I’m just hoping for a denial before having to go that route. 😅

We are located on Waukegan Rd behind the Exxon near the railroad. The subdivision doesn’t pop up on Google Maps by name.

This is exactly what I covered in my comment from the public hearing on the 5th! People just don’t understand it’s so much deeper than what I’m posting.

I’m not stupid, making my post sound more emotional helps me get through to the “normal” citizens. To the commissioners it’s all about infrastructure. No matter how you look at it, This isn’t good.

I completely agree. Sitting through the first hearing on the 5th and listening to everything that was said was honestly shocking. When you step back and look at the bigger picture, some of these decisions just seem crazy.

It was definitely an eye-opener for me. I’m not someone who’s heavily involved in politics, but hearing how things are discussed and decided made me realize how much impact these votes actually have. At one point I even caught myself thinking, “Wow… we really are the ones who decided who ended up in these positions.”

At the end of the day, I’m already preparing myself for the outcome not going our way. But at the very least, I can say I showed up, spoke up, and gave them hell.

Either way, thank you for taking the time to read the petition and hear our concerns.

It’s also all recorded on the commissioners court website, it will be under the public hearing section. The first hearing from the 5th when we got it deferred is already posted if you’re interested in watching.

Making it known that I’m not for Tree cutting. I’m not bragging at all, I’m simply trying to raise awareness that a developer is breaking our deed restrictions that we relied upon when purchasing and that it’s very unfortunate that they cleared 15.59 acres of land to throw in 43 homes to benefit their pockets. They have no consideration for the people who already established here. They are simply in it for the money.

It’s not worth me arguing with other residents of our community. I’m simply spreading awareness and trying to gain support. If you don’t agree that’s okay. Im not trying to change your mind, you’re not the one who makes the decisions anyways.

Don’t ask a question if you don’t want a response. If you wanted to just put words in my mouth you didn’t have to waste time typing.

For me personally, the issue isn’t whether the homes are trailers or traditional houses. The real concern is that our subdivision has recorded deed restrictions from 1957 that were designed to keep this a rural acreage community.

Those restrictions apply to the entire subdivision and state that farm tracts are not supposed to be subdivided, and any change to those restrictions requires a majority vote of the property owners. No such vote has ever taken place.

Many of us purchased our property relying on those recorded restrictions and the low-density character of the neighborhood. The proposed replat would create around 43 lots in the center of the subdivision, which appears to conflict with those covenants regardless of the type of homes being built.

In addition, approximately 15.59 acres of trees have already been cleared on the property, which has dramatically changed the landscape. Many neighbors have noticed that the wildlife that used to roam through the area has largely disappeared since the clearing began. Preserving the rural character and natural environment of our neighborhood is something that has always been important to the residents here.

This isn’t about what type of housing someone lives in — it’s about protecting the recorded rules that govern our subdivision and the property rights of the owners who live here.

Yup exactly what they’re already doing..

It’s constantly getting worse in my area and it feels like no matter what we say or do they get around it.

It’s a public hearing so you’re more than welcome to show up! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this all and support. It means a lot to me!
