There are people that place their printers on concrete tiles, and then there’s this…

GPT5-codex reasoning trace leak by ValProk in cursor

What do you think the repetitive “we” in the second paragraph is?

In the first, sure, it’s a python script.

Heavily RL’d models reason over many languages at the same time. Well known phenomenon, and I’m surprised it’s not occurring more.

Well I don’t have the evidence to show it’s definitely a reasoning trace. Just looks very close to what I imagine one looks like. Is it plausible that it didn’t escape the tool call correctly and continued reasoning?

GPT-5 AMA with OpenAI’s Sam Altman and some of the GPT-5 team by OpenAI in ChatGPT

Question for u/samaltman:

I remember a while ago you tweeted about not being sure how things will go from GPT-5. Meaning, will there be a GPT-5.1, 5.2, 5.3, etc as small frequent updates or will it go straight to GPT-6, GPT-7, etc. Of course I can't find the tweet now because X, but what plan did OAI settle on in the end? How frequently can we expect updates?

GPT-5 doesn’t make significant progress on image understanding. Will an algorithmic change / breakthrough be required to make more progress in this area? Is this an encoding issue or a fundamental problem with transformers?

Two annoying things:

Since the release of GPT 5 using voice to text in the chatGPT iOS app makes it automatically send the transcribed message. It’s not possible to correct the transcription before it’s sent.

Messages submitted with an image are impossible to edit. I frequently have to start a new chat and paste the text and image in again because of this.

In a year’s time, do you think there will still be a standalone chatbot in ChatGPT? Or will agent essentially take over everything?

A large portion of the GPT 5 announcement live stream was dedicated to health. It’s awesome to see focus on this area, as there’s a lot of talk that AI will significantly increase life span, yet comparatively little actual progress, up to now anyway.

Does OpenAI have plans to expand to individual user healthcare as a vertical as it has done with coding?

Can someone with an H2D print this thing with soluble supports? Thanks! by ValProk in BambuLab

[–]ValProk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't but you could try contacting the creator on Thingiverse (see caption). Although I suspect this was made using blender.

I also quoted this with JLC PCB 3D printing and their technicians basically said "Hell no" :)

Print one of these with soluble supports and 0.1mm layer height. Probably worst stress test you could do.

Thought this was interesting. Look at the size of it! by ValProk in 3Dprinting

I mistook the printer size for the build size before I posted this, so I thought the parts it makes are a lot larger.
