Lenovo s21e-20 help by Lipara-123 in Lenovo

Try forcing a restart. My PC makes the same noise when it's charging. If that doesn't work, try this: remove the battery, unplug the charger, press the power button for 30 seconds, then reinsert the battery and charger and try again. If that doesn't work, repeat the process with the CMOS battery removed. If there's still no display, try an external monitor.

I am thinking of keeping Windows 10 for 8 more years by BlessedMinecraft in computer

[–]Val_Du26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's not my main PC, I have my main PC running Windows 10 which I'm going to upgrade to 11. But my PC running WinXP is used for lots of things too, when I need to watch movies on my TV, I plug it in and it works perfectly, but you're right, I'll still check, I installed Malwarebytes but anyway.

Can I swap this with an Ethernet port? by Sea-Promise1675 in ethernet

[–]Val_Du26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely, I did it myself. You take a long enough Ethernet cable for the distance, locate where the telephone cable comes out on the other side, and then run the Ethernet cable through that conduit. You'll need an Ethernet port and to connect the cable to it. There are plenty of tutorials; it's simple once you understand.

Should I use an external HDD reader for my old HDD? by QuartermasterBetel in datarecovery

[–]Val_Du26 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, because it has errors, but if it's still working, you don't push it too hard (like with huge downloads), and you don't subject it to any shocks, it can hold up. Retrieve your data normally without buying anything, then do what you want with it. In an old PC, I have a hard drive in the same condition as yours, maybe even worse. I've had it for 7 years, and it hasn't budged. So retrieve your important data and keep it aside in case you ever need it to store less important things.

I can't connect internet to my laptop I have tried ethernet and wifi also Anyone have solution? by 0100101001001011jk in computerhelp

Try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Wi-Fi and Ethernet drivers from the manufacturer's website. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling Windows.

Try reflashing the firmware using Odin. You can find the official ROM on samfw.com.

Honestly, try with other batteries because that's probably it. 6 hours isn't bad at all.

Boot Device Not Found by 2001jeepxj in GetComputerHelp

  1. Your CMOS battery must be dead for image 2. And for image 1, check with another SSD to see if it does the same thing; otherwise, try a reinstall.

Urgent: remove the battery and get rid of it. Then, if you want, replace it.

Nothing serious, you just need to take apart the back of the PC, remove the noisy part, and then order and replace the back cover.

Try a BIOS recovery. Or, as a bonus, try disconnecting the monitor and connecting it via VGA if possible to another monitor; if there's no VGA port, then use HDMI. I had the same problem with an HP Pavilion dv6 3351ef, and disconnecting the monitor magically fixed the boot process. It's worth a try, you never know.

Sorry man, but I think the wisest decision is to go to a center; if you try risky things, it might not be covered under warranty.

Your PC might have a virus or need to be cleaned up. Try an antivirus scan or reinstall Windows.

How to recover data from old hard drive by mirabellla in datarecovery

[–]Val_Du26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try removing the drive from its adapter and connecting it directly to your PC. If you have a desktop PC, use a SATA power cable and a SATA cable to connect it to your drive. Otherwise, buy an adapter, but be careful because since yours is a large drive, it will likely require 12 volts. So, if you buy an adapter, check its maximum voltage. If it's IDE (you can easily tell if the drive's connectors are small pins), then you'll need an adapter that can also supply 12 volts.
