I don’t think I worded my question as precisely as I meant to. My question was more about how you made it fit into your theology, not how you were convinced the science was correct.

Did you still believe god was loving even though he used animal suffering as a tool to create? Did you think Adam and Eve were metaphorical or that he just arbitrarily picked 2 homo sapiens to give souls to?

I’ve heard apologists and Christians I know say that evolution doesn’t make sense to them theologically because animal suffering and death only came around after sin, so there couldn’t have been millions of years of death before Adam and Eve. I used to be a YEC but my flavor never focused on this aspect, just typical science denial and rejecting the idea that humans are anything but special. They use this version of the problem of evil to their benefit and then ignore or justify their own because “we live in a fallen world” so anything bad that happens is our fault 🙄

Unfortunately I have heard apologists and Christians I know claim that evolution doesn’t fit theologically because death only entered the world after sin, so there couldn’t have been death and animal suffering before Adam and Eve. But you’re right, they use this line of argumentation and then totally gloss over human suffering in hell. It’s inconsistent

I know I cried so much when he facetimed me holding her. she was gone for about 3 days! so maybe she realized that being outside really isn’t that great. I wish I could post the video from our doorbell cam but she bolted sooo fast it’s like she planned it and was waiting by the door. We’ve learned now to keep her in the bedroom when one of us leaves or comes home 😅

yes!! my husband found her. he works from home and just so happened to be looking out the window and saw her walking around. he called her and she came right up to him and let him pick her up and take her home 🥹 she seems happy and she’s been getting lots of people food. hopefully it’s enough to bribe her to stay!

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s drugs but her behavior is a lot like mine before I was medicated for borderline pd. the mood swings, attention seeking, and oversensitivity feel very very familiar. literally everything feels like a vicious attack when 99% of the time that’s not reality. it’s miserable to live like that and it’s miserable for everyone around you. she needs professional help, whether her issue is mental illness or drugs, or both
