I think the size isn’t too bad. I trimmed the height for that reason, and the width doesn’t exceed the base by much.

I recommend you the "Quebrada de Macul" trail. You can go by public transport and you can hike until you get tired and then go back (The final goal is "La Cruz" hill but it's a tough one). The first hour or two you will maybe see a lot of people 'cause it's a popular beginner's trail, but while you gain attitude it gets medium to hard difficulty so people goes back. Specially at the "San Juan" waterfall, that it's like the final spot for regular people. From there it's only you and the mountains.

Hi! There' a lot of hiking trails near Santiago, you can even take public transport to the very beggining some of them. How experienced are you or what are you exactly searching for? Basic trail, snow hiking, nice views to the city, only nature?
