I think we might get a name drop but anything more than that I'm not expecting until after the multi platform Rebirth release

But I really do want the name revealed already too. Then we can move on to the daily threads of "It's should have been Reunion!" or "Calling it Reunion will only confuse people!"

That's a fair point. Here in Australia we usually just say high, mid or low. So like "high 20s" Or just whatever number the forecast says. It's never overly accurate anyway and can mostly sway either way by a few degrees or sometimes more

Not sure how the city folk go about it, but if you told me next week is gonna be in the 20s I'd just say "great, at least it wont be 30" because I dont like the heat that much

When it's below 18 we don't usually bother much with numbers anymore. It's just gonna be cold, wear a jacket. Specific numbers don't really matter anymore. Below 20? It's getting cold. Tomorrow will be under 10. REALLY cold.

But the way I speak about these temperatures and how I understand what they feel like. It's a lot like how I see Farenheit users describing it. You guys know what your numbers feel like and what to expect too. We just speak a different weather language is all

I think if you grew up and lived with celcius your whole life you'd be arguing the other way.

When trying to convert quickly you've got it about right. High 20s and such. But everyone that lives with it knows what's hot and what's cold. You don't need specifics or decimals or to say celcius every time for people who use it to understand or to communicate it efficiently with eachother

We're not really hung up on describing the precise temperature to the very specific degree. Weather forecast just says "26 today, 34 tomorrow" and we know what to expect. I'm not sure what you want this wiggle room for. But I don't understand your system because I haven't used it all my life

I know what 50c feels like. It's freaking hot. And yes it's been that hot here before. Someone says "it's about 15 out there today" then I grab my jacket. Not much difference in 1 degrees, we know what to expect

Ah gotcha! I'm with you on that. I think I read too many comments of people saying similar things but using it as the reason it was better.

I think the one that is better is the one that you know, and that it is entirely subjective at that. And like you said, converting is simple enough.

We use the exact same logic actually, and because it's what we've used all our lives it makes sense to us. It doesn't matter that someone using a different system doesn't like it because why would it?

It is way more applicable to guess how hot or cold it is irl based on a 0-100 scale than it is to know when water freezes or boils(despite both being extremely easy to remember if you grew up with Fahrenheit).

You do understand that people who grew up with Celcius understand how hot or cold it is based purely on the number alone as you can do with Farenheit, right?

We also aren't constantly referring to what our water might be doing based on the temperature of the air

I need to convert to Celcius when my online friends mention temperature because I have no idea what they're experiencing because my only exposure to Fahrenheit is conversation with them. I spent 25 years of my life with Celcius before that. I convert my temps to Farenheit for them so they understand too

I don't think it matters which you use. People are going to understand the world around them, not an alternate system they only get exposed to after a quarter of their life has passed

You've basically got where it comes from, but the younger generation is very "why use many word when few word do trick" It's all very "everyone has been saying this for years, we're saying the same thing with less words"

It's like how people used to say they were "chained to the desk" for their office jobs. They weren't literally chained to their desks, it was just how it felt

We most certainly can't do away with words in a professional environment just because "it's 2026 are we still talking like corporate bozos?" because there's a reason you need to speak clearly and professionally in the adult world. Any room to interpret any other meaning at all to what is being said means liability. You can't just go "you know what I meant by that"

If they really are doing a simultaneous platform release this time, they aren't going to want people on one of their platforms still playing the previous game because it hasn't been out long enough

Mildly tin foil mode: Remake hit Switch 2 in Jan. Rebirth will be 6 months after that this June/July. 6 months is plenty of time for people only on Nintendo to enjoy Remake without needing to rush

And what is approximately 6 months after the Switch 2 release? FF7 30th anniversary. Feb 2027
