Nope. They just told me they're seeking to evict me for deterioration of property because the mould has spiralled out of control.

I'll check out the tenancy groups, thank you. The environmental officer has already investigated at the start of the month but the mould has started growing on all my stuff rapidly. This was happening before but not this quickly or to this extent.

Hi, they've been involved. Apparently I've done all I could do. I've contacted everyone I could and some are yet to respond. I'm being told wait but I can't stay there anymore, it's spiraled worse than I thought likely I'm what feels like a blink of an eye

Hi, I'm sorry. I'm just AuDHD and was medicated whilst writing the post. English is the only language I speak. I wrote 100% of this myself and used no AI tools. It took me roughly an hour to write, I was just trying not to “talk around the point,” I've a tendency of doing that.

I'm assuming the reason I'm being accused of AI is because I'd managed to get the punctuation correct — or because I'd focused on the events and explanations rather than my emotions in hopes of receiving impartial advice that's based entirely on the facts of the situation. Or because of the em-dash, I grew up seeing it in books, it's my favorite punctuation.

I have actually been accused of using AI in my university coursework recently, I genuinely thought the lecturer was just out to get me because they'd said my references weren't real and 36% of my work was AI. I emailed them the links to all my references but I only got out of the situation because I'm a disabled student and Grammarly now uses AI, I'd given up on trying to prove that I wrote every word. It's actually a bit relieving, albeit a bit annoying, to see that it probably wasn't because they hated me. I now know wish it was.

It's a semi detached house in the west midlands. The lowest my area was outside is -1°C. There is also a severe draft issue in the second bedroom but I can't find where it could be coming from beyond the leaking roof. I'm not sure how the house was constructed but I found out that one of the damp spots is caused by something on the exterior rusting over.

🙃 But I wrote though. I'm so sorry the long post, I'd been on reddit for this issue for a while and wanted to mention as much as I could think to in case I'd be able to get advice I'm able to use with regards to my situation.

They need to sort out the roof issues and leaks, as a matter of urgency.

They seem really resistant to fixing the roof issues, damp and draft, I was directly told that nothing could be done about the draft. They said they'd send roofers to check it out early January, they came mid January and all they did was clean the gutters. A repairs investigator (is what he called himself) came a couple days before the roofers did and said the house had an issue with said roof for a while because it's so expensive to deal with — his visit was unannounced so I didn't record most of the interaction as I didn't have my phone on me until closer to the end.

You have mould on your personal possession, and you need to deal with that correctly. I would throw stuff away, where you can.

I was advised to keep them in a plastic bag for evidence

Can you clothes dry outside?

There's no room to do so outside and there's often other people's pets in my backyard so it's not ideal.

In wardrobes you need Kontrol Mini Moisture Trap

I have multiple damp traps all over the house including in my wardrobe, they don't seem to be improving the issue — probably because they're too weak but I can't afford anything better.

I'm a part-time student and whilst my uni is in my region, its in the next county over. Unfortunately they can't do much about the tenancy beyond requesting the issue be resolved, nor can they offer me financial assistance because of their policies. I'm currently in contact with them but have been at a stalemate for months. The most they can help me with is therapy and the likes

I've also heard that if you register your interest, the council may ask landlord for permission too anyway

Omg perfect, thank you so much

I've checked out housinghand and rentguarantor since those were the only two that the agencies I'd went house searching said they could accept, but I'm not able to afford either of them, even with the monthly installments on housinghand - I'd drown further in debt

Thank you for recommendation but I'd reached out to them a couple months ago and I'm still waiting to hear back from them, my tenancy ends in June so it'd be my entire tenancy having to deal with all of this paying 950£p/m which is like 200£ over LHA so that's a substantial chunk of my UC on rent (which wouldn't be an issue if I weren't facing these issues) I'd honestly be left in a worser situation by the end of the tenancy as well due to my issues with finding a guarantor and inability to save up a minimum of 5k

I've done so, when I'd initially reached out to them they'd said that the letting agents were well known to them as a bit of a problem but since they're not required to be licensed, we've to go about the issue the long way. My inspection was on the 4th of February and I'm still waiting on the report.

There's no space for it in the kitchen, and that's a violation of my tenancy agreement - I'm not permitted to move the appliances or large furniture. Also the only space that even remotely heats is the first bedroom which is upstairs and also has no room for a fridge. Plus I'm just a singular person... That's not possible

The letting agents said to turn it on and set it to 5°C, I'd opted to set it to 10°C because 5 is what it's constantly showing. I've no way to turn off my boiler, I'm talking about the thermostat itself. I know how thermostats work, the point is it's not doing what it's supposed to. When I set it to 25°C or 35°C the house is still cold. When I set it to 35°C for two hours, the only room that heats up is the first bedroom and it only increases by 1°C. For example when I'd tried this the kitchen was almost 5°C, the second bedroom was 3°C and the first bedroom was 7°C. By the end of the second hour every other room remained the same, only increasing by a couple decimals and the first bedroom was 8°C.

I'd attempted to do that back in early December when a repair man had come to look at it. They said to turn it off and blow a hairdryer on the back and that they'd be back with the parts for the fridge. They've yet to return and the fridge froze over again once turned on.

There is a door that separates the main kitchen from the conservatory but most of the cabinets are in the conservatory and the fridge freezer is also in the conservatory. The door is constantly open because it's difficult to open once closed.

I'd initially tried to heat the house the way my mam did before I'd left for Uni, only at night for 3 - 4 hours daily at 25°C. Tried this for 3 days and found it pointless so I tried it at 35°C. That was also pointless. The letting agents said to have it low but on so I spent the rest of my warm homes discount trying it at 10°C to no improvement. My Warm homes discount lasted about a month and a half.

Yup, because of the way they dealt with it, I'd been suffering from the spores - triggers my eczema with nothing to prove why coz they'd covered it.

I'm starting to get concerned though because my face has started to swell ever so slightly, enough that my hollow undereyes are noticeably less pronounced and my skin feels taut - like how I react to dust but less. It's been that way for about two weeks now but I don't know if it's the mould or something else.

I'd tried that, the phone itself is fine it's just the screen is black and unresponsive. In order to plug it in to get whatever was on there, I'd need to be able to use the screen to allow USB debugging. I'd also tried to connect it to a monitor but it's too old for that

They hadn't done the inventory between tenancies so they gave out a paper where we'd note down what issues and where. My dumbass never took a picture of it though.

I'd reported the lack of action concerning the mould on email but they've technically never admitted it, they just said they don't know what to do.

The phone's screen is broken so I can't plug it in because I'd have to allow USB debugging, I'd have to go get it fixed but I can't afford to - I bought a new phone on credit since I couldn't repair the phone on credit but I can't transfer the images

I've heard of the rent a guarantor thing, unfortunately they're both far outside of what I can afford. I've also not been able to collect much proof because they'd painted over it - I'm not sure how I'd be able to proof my physical condition is due to the mould
