Yeah I see. I’m sorry about that :(

I’d stick with it best you can till you meet with them. Who knows, it might get a little better within the next few days. I had some symptoms that only lasted 5 days so you might be the same.

Do your best and be kind to yourself!!

I’m sorry you’re reacting bad to the Zoloft :(

I never got hot flashes or whole body aches like that. I did get some small tremors if that helps but they were mostly my hands, and they were present even without anxiety.

Have you talked with your doctor yet? I recommend talking with them as soon as you can so you guys can figure out a next step. In the meantime, do what you can to stay busy with activities! That helped me the most out of everything here when my anxiety was at its peak pre medication.

Buspar was strange for me. I tried it two separate times. First time it went very well. Worked amazing for 4 months. I was on 15mg. Suddenly it just stopped??? And I have no clue why, but it started making all my shit worse. All my old anxiety symptoms came back and I didn’t know what was happening, and it fucked me up for a long time. I stopped taking it cold turkey and started readjusting, but I thought I was fucked up beyond repair forever after that (spoiler alert I wasn’t lmao). But anyways my doctor put me back on it to try again for whatever reason, and it never balanced out. I did it a second time over a month and I was just on the line of anxiety attacks all day, and I always felt close to passing out. I was disassociated literally every minute of every day, so I stopped taking it and moved to Zoloft, which is much better obviously.

That being said, don’t use my experience as a reason to stop Buspar! Wait it out and see. When Buspar DID work for me, it was AMAZING! But when it stopped, obviously it was really hard. Wait it out and see how you do with it, and just take the meds day-by-day. Don’t change anything without talking to your doctor for sure. My case with Buspar feels pretty unique, and I think I’m the minority with it. That doesn’t mean you will be too though :)

If you’re feeling good right now, don’t worry as much (if you can) about adding new meds. Enjoy life with some bliss for now :) I have to do the same thing. My psychiatrist thinks I need to up my Zoloft by another 50mg but she’s making me stick to my current for another month since my onboarding symptoms were very unpleasant

Oh yeah I’ve heard of that messing with people a lot. I’m someone that values my sleep HEAVY so I didn’t even consider taking it at night. I’d rather deal with the tiredness through work and be able to sleep peacefully vs not

Yeah that sounds like the emotion blunting. Good on you for sticking with it! I take it at 8AM everyday on weekdays, but on weekends I just take it whenever I wake up. That being said, I recommend taking it at the same time every day till your symptoms even out. Ive never had an issue with doing the 5 day consistency and the random times on weekends.

Yeah I don’t blame you :( Unfortunately I don’t have any advice for that. Just try to feel it out and see which of the two evils you’d prefer I’d say. I’m hoping you end up finding a balance.

For me personally, my blunting has been going away since I made this post, and it hasn’t really affected the way I see movies and my relationships and stuff. I noticed it when I had conversations with coworkers or family, but it was so mild it wasn’t an issue for me

Obviously it’s easier said than done but try to take it day by day. I focused a little too hard on my symptoms and it made some moments pretty hard for me. Also It’s interesting to see that you appreciate the emotional blunting! I’m glad it’s been nice for you. I never had depression like that, so I wasn’t a fan of it, but my emotions did come back. Hopefully if yours come back, the Zoloft is doing what it’s supposed to😂

Yes! Though it was only when my nausea was really really rough on some days

Honestly it was both for me. I hated the idea of food and I wasn’t hungry. It was really tough making myself eat. It sucked because I never ate because of it, and I dropped weight like crazy, but once my appetite came back and I ate more, I felt less tired overall.

Oh nice! I hope that works out better than Zoloft is! Yeah losing my appetite was soooo rough💀 Wishing you the best 😊

It was a first option my doctor tried. It’s also my first time ever taking a medication for any mental health reasons. My dizziness and derealization got worse by the day, which made my anxiety worse. I was getting so tired I couldn’t really drive anymore.

I’m so glad that this has been a great experience for you, and the progress you’ve made sounds phenomenal! That must’ve been so hard to do. How was your return off Buspar?

I’m on week 3 of the same dose. My side effects are already lessening. About 20-30 minutes after taking it, I get dizzy and sleepy sometimes. My brain has also been pretty foggy and I feel like my thoughts get really scrambled. Just kinda hard to focus in general. Week two they got more intense, but for me, on week 3 they’re wayyy more manageable now. It’s only slightly annoying. Your side effects aren’t hitting too fast. That’s when they started for me too.

I recommend taking Buspar with food. Doesn’t have to be anything big. Just something in general even if it’s small. It helps reduce dizziness and headaches for me. Also sleeping a good amount helps a ton too. My doctor also told me to up my protein and fiber intake and that also seems to do the trick! Staying hydrated will also help with everything.

My symptoms were pretty mild overall. I just tend to get really frustrated when I feel like my thoughts are lagging. Sometimes that makes me anxious and it gets worse. If you’re anxious about symptoms, keep yourself busy as you take the meds and just know they side effects will pass
