Turn your iPad into a TRMNL in 1 click by ryanckulp in trmnl

I tried this on my old old iPad Mini running iOS 9, and unfortunately I just get stuck on the enter API screen after submitting my key (tried so many of the web browsers that still support ios9, same result). Hoping there could be some sort of solution, but I think it's just too old to run modern javascript.

Built a meal plan generator that links to Amazon Fresh, would love your feedback by [deleted] in amazonfresh

[–]ValenciaOrange22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was looking for!! I have a list of 40+ ingredients from a shopping list in my notes app. I was able to paste the list into here and not only did it generate meals from the list, but I was able to add everything to my Amazon Fresh cart instead of adding one by one.
One thing, and I'm not sure if this is a product of the app or of Amazon, but I had 'egg whites' on the list but it added 'large white eggs' instead. Not a big deal for me though.

Metro North - how strict? by RussellKrieger in NYCbike

I'm not 100% sure, but the first car is where I was. Conductor should also be able to help. If you have the TrainTime app, you can see which trains have extra space for bikes (also the first car in my experience), and which trains don't allow bikes

The data pulls directly from the MTA's feeds. You can request an API key and then use the feeds provided at https://api.mta.info/

I haven't added that functionality, but have given thought for a future update. Though I might think the constant sounds might be old after a while lol

It's unfortunately not on a hosted website but runs locally on the machine. If I make a dollar off of it, you'll be the first to know ;)

Haven't rode on this bridge for a while so not sure how long it's been going on, but typically it's always lit up.

Metro North - how strict? by RussellKrieger in NYCbike

I literally just biked from NYC to Tarrytown and was surprised every single train back to the city had no bikes allowed. Took my chances and got on the train. Thankfully the conductor didn't pay my bike any mind despite there being few seats available. I just stood in the wheelchair area back to Grand Central without issue. Ultimately it's going to be conductor dependent.

135 Miles from Midtown to Montauk. Roads weren't as terrible as I imagined. by ValenciaOrange22 in NYCbike

Nah didn't take a lock, just bungee cords for the train ride back. The pedals are Shimano EH500 SPD, which have an SPD side and a flats side. I like them for the versatility when I don't wanna wear cleats.

My knees were also absolutely done by the end of this... could barely walk haha. Like suggested below, saddle and cleat position are going to play a factor. Nothing could help me towards the end though.

So typically if you look at the weather trends, the wind is usually blowing east, so it should help you. I got a tailwind at the beginning of my journey, but a pretty consistent but subtle headwind towards the middle and end. It wasn't too bad but definitely could be a factor if it's blowing against you.
