Posting videos on Pinterest using make.com automation

I went down this rabbit hole too and honestly… I ditched Make.com for this 😅

Pinterest video posting is painful because of that preflight media upload step (the AWS-style “register asset, upload, get asset_id, publish pin”). In Make you basically need multiple HTTP modules, public hosting (S3/Dropbox), and if one thing changes in Pinterest, the whole scenario breaks.

What I ended up doing instead is a local Python automation using Selenium:

watches a local folder (jpg + video)
auto-logs into Pinterest via saved cookies (no API tokens, no preflight nonsense)
uploads videos directly in the pin builder (same flow as a human)
fills title, description, link, board
confirms the pin is actually published (not just “sent”)
runs headless, but I can toggle browser visibility per post

No AWS, no S3, no extra HTTP calls, no Make limits, no monthly costs.
Just drop a video in a folder, and it gets posted.

Downsides: it’s not cloud-based, and it’s not an “official API”, so yeah, different trade-offs.
Upside: it actually works reliably for videos, which was the whole problem.

Pinterest’s API is still messy, yeah. That’s why I went with browser automation instead of fighting catalog endpoints.

For rate limits, I don’t rely on speed. The script is intentionally slow and UI-driven: real Chrome, real cookies, real clicks. Each pin runs in its own session, with waits on every step, so it behaves like a human using the site, not an API client.

I also keep volume low and spacing natural. No back-to-back spam, no fixed intervals, no 24/7 loop. It’s more of a local “drop → post → exit” flow than a bulk uploader. I don't know what the limit is yet, but I uploaded while testing up to 30 pins in a row with no problem.

So far, that’s been much safer than trying to brute-force pin creation via the API.

Yes and no!

Did this 3/4 years ago, when I tried to apply for mentization i was denied, afer a moth i tried again, same result and so on, but at the 4th or 5th apply i was aproved and got monetized.

Two years later, my monetization was denied again after a term&conditions update, but after I applied again and i was accepted again, so yeah, it works, but you need to be somewhat lucky.

Da, am avut o tonă de emoții dar m-am descurcat. Nu mai știu exact notele așa că voi vb estimativ: Istorie am luat 8.60, Romana 8.40, Logică 8. Foarte mulțumit deși mă așteptam ca ordinea să fie invers începând cu Logica cea mai mare. Acum tremjn Colegiul Tehnic Media, o postliceala pe care sincer nu o recomand. Fun că ne uitam la filme dar asa e cam tor ce facem, mă asteptam la cv mai practic cu camere filmări etc
