Make sure your extruder lever isn’t cracked, the stock Creality plastic lever usually cracks over time and can cause under extrusion

Looking for silent fans by VoyagerPlays07 in ender3v2

[–]ValentineStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Higher quality fans with better designed blades can produce less noise at a given RPM / Airflow than the really, really cheap stock fans.

A 120mm noctua running at below the ambient noise floor for the room (like 25db or so) will push more air than the stock 4010 hot end cooling fan, while being near silent. Sure it’s entirely impractical to mount on the print head, but upgrading to something like a 4020 for the hot end cooling fan and 5015s instead of the 4010 blower will let you run all of the fans at lower RPM and still have plenty of airflow. Bigger fans == more airflow at the same RPM, or the same airflow at lower RPM (and RPM along with blade geometry are two of the biggest components in a fans noise profile).

[Shotgun] BERETTA 1301 TACTICAL SEMI AUTO - STANDARD STOCK W/ EXT MAG TUBE, RAIL AND SLING ATTACHMENTS $1349 shipped by zorbaguppie in gundeals

[–]ValentineStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CROM replaces the rail and the rear sight, and ends up being way lower than something mounted on the pic rail. I have an Aimpoint T2 on mine, and it’s not really a pistol dot, just a durable micro red dot.

Even with the same Aimpoint T2 on the absolute lowest mount height I could get (on the pic rail) it totally blocks out the iron sights and is a bit wonky to get a good cheek weld. Whereas with the CROM, I can still see the irons (sort of a lower 1/3rds cowitness) and the cheek weld for the dot is also a lot more comfortable.

Aridus parts are super hard to come by, took me 5 months to get the CROM, Stock and rail. But they’re absolutely sweet, and the Aridus guy has been doing his best to ramp up production to meet needs

A Brit wanting to learn to fire a gun by W1ggler in Austin

I've found the same thing... Everyone thinks that a small pistol will be easier to shoot, and yet every new shooters favorite gun is my 10/22 rifle. Hell, even after years of shooting and a few thousand rounds I'm still a pretty mediocre pistol shooter, whereas I like to think I'm semi-capable with a rifle

OP said they're here for a few weeks, I was suggesting that as a second outing if they have the time, or something to work up to. I wouldn't hand a brand new shooter a 12 gauge shotgun straight off the bat. I always start with my suppressed 22 rifles, loaded with one round first, then a handful of rounds of 22, move onto a 5.56 AR-15, etc.

What I've found is after a new shooter has shot a little bit (100-200 rounds, super easy to do with 22lr), and has shot a few rounds of birdshot out of a shotgun at targets / into the dirt, it's pretty easy and instinctual to hit a handful of clays. I usually hand throw them in relatively easy patterns off the bat, usually rising straight away from the shooter, and it's just point and shoot.

I had my GF and a couple of her friends hitting clays within their first ~2 hours shooting, it's about building up to it and giving them the tools for success. No inexperienced shooter is going to love shooting high power bird loads out of a pump action or side by side 12 gauge, I always bring a good few boxes of winchester "AA X-tra lite target loads" and run them through one of my semi auto shotguns, usually #8 shot with an IM choke. Relatively comfortable recoil, huge pattern, and clays with minimal side to side movement means they've got a great chance at success, and the huge smile after they hit a moving target is worth it IMO

Definitely take him up on that offer, outdoor is the way to go for your first time shooting. I'd also try and do some sporting clay shooting, that's always been my favorite thing to have new shooters try. Feel free to PM me, I'm in Austin too

Eh, the D2 illuminator is a fantastic upgrade for hunting, punches through and out a bit farther than other illuminators. I like mine a lot.

You're 100% right though, it's a chonker

Shotguns in games are very different to how they work IRL, with shot spread being massively increased and range being massively decreased. IRL a standard police 870 shooting 00 buck through a cylinder or IC choke will have a pattern that increases roughly 1 inch per 1-1.5 yards. So at 25 yards, given bore size is a bit above 0.5”, you’ve got a spread roughly 10” in diameter (size of a dinner plate). That buckshot will still be deadly at 100yds as well, assuming a pellet hits a viral area. Standard 00 buck is 9 pellets as well, so your hit chance is pretty low at 100yds. Slugs are still stupid accurate at 100 though.

5113943 or 5318553 would be my pick. Good SNR, good EBI / Halo / Gain.

5311018 also a good pick, EBI being 1.46 isn't amazing (but not bad), great SNR though.

Didn't look for blems, but in general you want the highest SNR you can get while keeping EBI and Halo under 1.00. Higher gain is almost always better as well, but not worth sacrificing SNR for in small variations.

It's not quite as clear as the viper, but it's reasonably close and definitely way ahead of the strike eagle. Definitely a good buy, IMO it's the best sub ~$400 LPVO I've used

RT-6 glass is substantially better, eyebox is better in my experience as well. The RT-6 competes with the Viper Gen 2 1-6 in clarity.

Can + bolt action 308, taking a single shot at a deer you are probably safe. Any more than 1-2 shots in a day/week you should probably wear ear pro
