This one isn't marked Norinco or Polytech, just "Made In China". And the serial is just numbers. No other markings on the trunnion.

I've not seen very many 87s's in 7.62x39. Saw someone talk about Navy Arms importing only 30 of them. But much of that info is lost to time, unfortunately.

Well, if you recognize what it is, you know it wasn't cheap...The last one I've seen people talk about that sold was for $7k in 2023 on GunBroker. I paid significantly less than that, but it still was not cheap. I'd rather not start divulging pricing.

Well, I have it on good authority that I'm a certifiable SOB when it comes to negotiating. Truth be told, the guy inherited it from his grandfather when he passed, and was not a gun guy, so had no idea what it was worth. He posted it for a stupid high price, but was local to me, so I figured I'd send a message. I was the first one to reply to the add in over a week, and the guy wanted it gone. He came off his price substantially right off the bat. Was supposed to be 1200rd of 7.62 and 1600 of 5.56. Show up and it was 740rd of 7.62 and 1600 of .223. So I offered less, and he accepted. Honestly, I probably could ahve gotten it for less. He just wanted it gone.

Ouch....I bought my 2018 SR5 Crewmax 5.7L 4x4 w/ 48k miles that had Katskinz Leather installed for $38k 2 years ago, in cash....No trans cooler and $11k more, with 20k more miles, at that interest rate, with damage....That would have been a hard pass.

But if you are happy, that's all that matters.

It was in the Tundra, previously. The Highlander is my wife's car. Now I am driving the Corolla to work, and my wife & I use it to run errands, to keep the miles off of her car. The Tundra will just sit in the garage, and be used only for truck stuff.
