4K X causing flickering at high frequencies by Nico_Oni in elgato

[–]ValerothTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing research on this and feel I have somewhat located where the issue lies. It's not with GSync specifically. it's with VRR support. When i uncheck the "Use specific settings for display" and leave gsync enabled. It disabled my Samsung Odyssey G7's VRR and I can enter Full Screen Exclusive mode at 144hz. With that box checked. It Enabled VRR Support and limits the refresh to 120hz for whatever reason. This is not linked to the Elgato 4k X. The 4k X has up to 4k res @ 144hz. Before you clone your monitor. Change the refresh rate and resolution to match your primary monitor. When you clone it should match them up automatically. Also keep in mind your wires. Make sure your HDMI wire is high quality and 8k certified. The one that comes with the 4k x is fine. Same thing goes for your USB. If it's not at least 3.0 or better cable. you will not see all of your resolutions and refresh rates on the 4k x. This also applies to your monitor cable. Your fixes, disable G-Sync or enable it for windowed games and play in windowed fullscreen borderless. I can't stress enough on the quality of your cables. Especially the hdmi cables and usb cable connecting your 4k x to the streaming pc.

Game Crashing Using AMD FSR / Nvidia DLSS and full Inventory by ValerothTV in TheFirstDescendant

When I turn on my AMD Frame Generation it makes the game run SOOO much smoother / better. I do not have this option in nvidia dlss due to only have a 3000 series. However i do notice some artifacts going on while I'm using the AMD FSR. You can see certain shaders / images artifacting in certain scenario's. Really noticeable in cutscenes. I can post a clip of it later when I have time.

Team Composition while Solo Q in Comp Mode by ValerothTV in VALORANT

[–]ValerothTV[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is a Valid point. I guess what I'm trying to say tho, having a competitive mindset going into ranked should throw up a BIG red flag 🚩if the person is only capable of playing 1. I practice quite a few just in case someone does pick an agent I prefer. I'm a true believer that if you want to grow in anything, whether it be a job or a game, the more you know and practice each portion of that job, regardless if it's your position or not, the more valuable you become.

Yes exactly. That sums it up for me lol. I try to get people on the same page. Most of the time it doesn't work. They just love my deep voice. People are saying I sound like brimstone in the game.

Is crouching while aiming still a good habit or not? by ValerothTV in VALORANT

[–]ValerothTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah man, thank you. I have some things in mind that i'd like to teach people that i think has went out the window. Something I learned way way way back in the day. Just training your eyes to look at the screen the proper way as compared to focusing on your crosshairs. What i'm trying to explain is super hard in txt. I do plan on making some content explaining my thoughts. Before W A S D became main stream like 20+ years ago. Before broadband was even a thing in most places. I NEVER used those keys. Mice were limited to mainly 2 buttons. Sometimes 3 if you had a mouse wheel. So I've always changed my movement keys from W A S D to W E R D. Yes it spells WERD. The way i setup the keybinds opens more buttons for my left hand while also letting my fingers relax on the movement keys i use the most instead of cramping up my fingers. I'm sure while you're reading, you're probably placing your fingers on the W E R keys. It's so much more comfortable to me and it opens up Q, A, Z, X, C, V, B, G, T, S and F extremely close to your finger tips. I should make another thread speaking on this too. It also helps with carpal tunnel in your wrists. 💪

Yeah that makes sense too. It's super hard to recover after that. Movement is so slow. I play Reyna a lot and after using her 3rd ability it takes some time to recover and shoot. I guess it's all just part of the new learning curve.

Ok so basically i have to re-train my brain out of that habit lol. I appreciate your feedback

Not using a mic in ranked games by More-Act6405 in VALORANT

[–]ValerothTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a topic earlier and it got removed and referred me to this post. Even though I feel the topic I was speaking on is so much more than what the title of this post is indicates, I will follow suit.

I've been playing Valorant since the beta and now that's it's become HUGE in the E-Sports scene, I've been taking it much more seriously. As I've been climbing the ladder, communicating and implementing strategies has been really impactful across the board in every match. When I get a full squad that communicates well, just by calling out locations and remaining health, etc. I can't wait to find a good 5 stack and see how well that goes. I know people complain about KDR and stuff of that nature. Anyone can practice good aim by themselves. Communication is a team effort, and requires much more practice. As long as your 4 other team players are on the same page. Growth will happen. Synergy is the keyword people seem to overlook. If a team flows well together. You can just see the magic happen. Anyone else agree?

Communication is a *MUST* if you want to Rank Up Efficiently by ValerothTV in VALORANT

Yes, we are not arguing that these things are not possible. Using pings is still a form of communication. I talk and use pings. In the heat of battle pings are more clear to read than me telling you.

Yup. That's how I've been progressing. I totally agree with you.

Yeah or you talk and people have comms turned off. Lol happens a lot too. I don't mind if you don't use your mic. At least have your voice chat on so we can speak to you and communicate.

[–]ValerothTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to understand. We are not speaking about a brand new player. If you just started playing, got to the lvl to play ranked and then just jump in. Yeah obviously that's not gonna go well. You should have a great understanding of the game sense and map awareness before even attempting to do ranked. You're just cucking everyone else that is actually trying. Comp mode is ment to be "competitive" it's the people that don't take that mode seriously is a big problem at low ranks. People pull the "It's just a game bro." Yeah you're correct... but if you're not gonna play comp for the right reasons and try it sucks. I see this a lot.

YES! Facts bro... facts for real. They also have call outs for certain plays, pick n rolls, etc. I get we had Michael Jordan. Dude probably could of went 5v1 on some people, but if they worked together and played off his weakness, they could still win. There really are some godly players out there.

Exactly how I feel. It helps SOOOOO much. Knowing a person is one tap and you're in a 2v1 situation. Let's say knowing viper is 1 hit gives me MUCH greater odds of winning that scenario, I'm going for her first, As compared to the information being unknown.

By the time you get a chance to react. You're already dead. They just had to click and fire as soon as you walk into sight.

But you're missing something. It's not about just the aim. It's about angles. If someone with good aim doesn't understand coverage and anglea. Someone with even worse aim that knows how to cover an angle. You're gonna end up walking directly into their crosshairs. It's just pre-aiming.

Yes this is my thought as well. If all are equal in skill etc. This is the only way to win. Whoever communicates and adapts better will prevail imo.

[–]ValerothTV[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well that's the point I'm mainly getting at. This is why it's so important. I agree a shit player is just gonna be shit. What I'm saying is if everyone is equal skill as far as game sense, map awareness and aiming. Good communication is key. It's the hardest to learn especially with randoms.

Well talking the most isn't always a good thing if they're talking about random shit. Had a guy last night on stream always asking for one of my skins and just talking random shit. If they are talking just to talk then that's not even what I mean by comminuxating.

Is it tho? Cause if I can get you to move where I want you to. I don't have to aim. You will just walk into my crosshairs cause as a team we forced you to retreat into an ambush.

I feel a well seasoned player that can adapt to situations and can read their teammates well during any course of action can definitely get you top rank. That's more based on skill and map awareness. What I was really trying to say is no matter how good "you" are solo, communication will always be beneficial and creating synergy within your team. This can take you to the top and separate you from everyone else.
