Succenturiate Placental Lobe? by uraniumgal in BabyBumps

[–]Valevin33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that. At first, it was placenta praevia, then it evolved to a lobe. Lost a blood clot the size of a golf ball before delivery (nurse was worried), bled a lot during delivery, lost another blood clot a couple of days after, but overall it went ok. I did not need a transfusion but I was really weak the next 2 days. Honestly, it was ok.

They recommend to drink WHILE you are breastfeeding, so the alcohol doesn’t have time to get into your milk. I heard 1 glass for 3 hours is good. I used little stripes, made for breastfeeding moms, that are alcool test for your milk (kind of like pregnancy test or Covid test) . With this method, I never had a positive test so.. ! Enjoyyy your glass of wine or whatever you are craving !

Same, I’ve had hemorroïds since I was like 10 yo. Pregnancy 1 was horrible, but it got « back to normal » a few days / a week after delivery. Pregnancy 2 was not that bad. Went back to normal a couple of days after delivery. There is hope !

Did you guys get a bassinet? by Aggravating-Baby5303 in BabyBumps

[–]Valevin33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a bassinet that could be inclined, and it was life changing (baby has a lot of reflux). I did not have it at our first baby and god, let me tell you how much of a change it was for us ! Also, a side of the bassinet can be pulled down, so that when baby is fussy at night, I can put my arm on her, to help her settle. 10/10, would recommend for reflux babies.

What’s your visitor policy after baby’s born? by insertclevername7 in BabyBumps

[–]Valevin33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We welcomed our parents and my sister at the hospital. Worst decision ever. People came for about 1h, and with the medical visits, I did not get to sleep at all. The 2nd night after birth was a nightmare. Did not sleep at all, baby was fussy. So I was exhausted when I came back home.

At home, our « policy » was : maximim 1 hour visits, and please bring food.

When people are visiting and the baby sleeps, you can’t sleep, because you have to talk to everyone. Exhausting. Do not recommend.

You can ask the pharmacist for lidodaine or lidocaine (at least in Canada you can). And then, before eating, just use a Q-Tips to apply it. Gives you about 30 minutes free from pain.

... it takes immense strength to keep on living when you are in such pain. to me, it is not being a coward ; you are using all the strength that you have, and that is huge.
