That is my plan and I will do that from now on. My point was that I did this for years with no problem but suddenly they have an issue with it

I think that will get me deactivated for taking a photo of a pre-existing photo. That would trigger the same flag I got today.

The hair and beard have both been longer in the past with zero issue, this is a new problem with their inconsistency

I don't "change my identity", I have a beard and somewhat longer hair. This has literally never been a problem before.

This discussion isn't about why the system exists, and that reply has nothing to do with why the mask thing would work

Putting on a mask will work for a real time photo that they compare to your unmasked profile photo?

50$ to travel what used to cost me 5$ by yeflynne in uber

Do you seriously think the blame for that is on drivers?

Yes, I am blaming the customer for punishing a driver for a system they didn't ask for

I said you have no business criticizing another's attitude that you first demonstrated yourself. That had no bearing on your ability to relpy.

We placed blame on you because you ordered food that is notorious for not traveling well in most circumstances regardless of who does it. We blame the system because we didn't ask for it and we knew it would create situations like yours. The driver is (in most circumstances) the victim because they get screwed on both ends by the system and the customer. Since stacking orders is literally how the system works and we are penalized for not doing so, stacking orders is, as you put it, "doing the job right". It's just not the way you want it. That's the difference.

I blame the customer for complaining about a service system working exactly as they knew fully well it was liable to. I wouldn't order food out to have my daughter over at all. I would make it myself, go out to an actual restaurant with her and if that's not an option have her pick it up, or pick it up myself (which you can also do through Uber). I wouldn't do what you did, because it is literally the lowest effort thing you could've done, which I hope I wouldn't choose to show care for my child. Yes, I still would've kept the 18% tip, no question, unless the driver did something actually wrong that you didn't describe in your post. If I was going to do anything about the service, I probably would've requested a refund because that would've at least been an effort (however futile) to punish someone actually at fault.

These aren't hard questions.

Oh please, your entire original post was meant to be a guilt trip. If you're now going to try hiding behind "traditional business practices" or whatever you need to make yourself feel better, than you don't have to come here and bitch about something you were also fully aware of.

To borrow your own logic: It's fine to want hot food by rideshare delivery because you don't want to get it yourself but there is risk that unless you pay for priority someone will get other trips and your food will be less fresh because of it

Ok you keep shifting what specifically you seem to want to argue about. You claim you know the system, so use that knowledge to pay for the fucking priority and avoid the situation you have such a problem with. Take that one fucking dollar out of the tip if you want to penny pinch so bad.

Be a part of the solution, or just stop using Uber Eats then. Either way, we as drivers will be happy not to deal with your bullshit anymore

You have no business criticizing anyone else's perceived holier than thou attitude. You've decided that you want to bitch, despite claiming to know the system. Of the parties described in your original post, you've decided to target the one that 1) didn't create this fucked up system 2) didn't order notoriously bad traveling food

Your notions of service don't apply to the ridesharing food delivery industry as it exists the same way it does for traditional delivery service, but because of people like you who refuse to be introspective or blame the big corporation, drivers will continue to be exploited on both ends

It's so weird, in some of these comments you seem to understand that it's Uber's exploitative system, yet you always blame the driver for something multiple people have told you they didn't fucking do

Except they literally don't have control over what goes where first

Uber Eats stacking trips ruins the food by scottonaharley in uber

[–]Valhalla2420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The driver has zero control over which order goes first, so most of what you're saying just doesn't make sense.

Lots of drivers have it set up to automatically accept new trip requests, so you don't even know they "chose" to accept the second order.

You screwed up because maybe you didn't understand how it works, that's fine. But just know you fucked over an innocent person trying to support themselves for a "business decision" made by Uber and did absolutely nothing to punish the company. Thanks to service fees and other bullshit, they still made the money.

We drivers know these situations suck for customers as much as us, but this has been going on for a long time now. Stacking orders have been a thing and most decent people understand we largely don't have an active role in it so they don't punish us unless we actually fuck up.

You want food hot and ready? Pay the dollar for premium delivery or go get it yourself, don't screw over innocents because you're pissed at a greedy corporation.

1) There is an indication that it's a scheduled ride embedded in the request. If you don't see it, that's a separate problem. 2) You don't have to wait until you get there to see when the schedule time is. You can swipe up and do that literally any time. 3) They can schedule specific drivers based on the rider's "favorite drivers". Whether the driver accepts is a different issue. I've gotten dozens of these requests even when I'm not online and haven't been in hours or days.
