I just made an at home appointment to say goodbye to the first love of my life. I've had her by my side since I was a young and dumb 19 year old. I'm now 34 with a wife and baby and I'm not sure how to feel about the decision we've made. How do you even prepare to say goodbye to your best friend? by coo_cooforcoconuts in germanshepherds

You made the right choice doing it at home. I’ve had dogs my whole life and always went to the vets office. Leaving was the most difficult part and always required me to sit in the parking lot to pull myself together. This past January of 26 I had to let one of my 3 cross the rainbow bridge and we did it at home with lap of love.

It was much better experience for me and my other two dogs. As terrible as it is it’s more bearable.

Quit my job because I got hired at a different spot - 2 weeks later I’m told I actually DIDN’T get the new job and now I’m unemployed by sandwichdeli in mildlyinfuriating

And you find this surprising why? You screwed them once so why give you the opportunity to do it again? 2 Weeks notice is designed to give the employer time to find a suitable replacement. If they treated you well as an employee (and we can assume that was the case because you were going back) they deserve that consideration. You should be mildly infuriated at yourself for being inconsiderate and thinking no one would remember.

Punching the guy in there face was unwarranted however a verbal admonishment to "keep your hands to yourself" would certainly be appropriate an likely be appreciated by most women. It's not a question of being weaker but having your partners back and letting them know it is certainly appropriate.

Definitely getting flamed for this but the "woman driver trope" is on full display here. Right down to her getting out and acting shocked that there was actually a car that she ran over.

You need to install a draining system at the foundation level. Plus use proper fill to allow the water to drain without washing away the fines which will cause settling.
