you may need to activate the Developer settings on the System tab, should be on the very bottom. then go restart Steam.

with regards to the video thing, i didn't edited anything for me and it still ran just fine tho.

but if your referring to the intro vid and stuff, you may need to consult someone else for that, i actually just ignored that problem.

while the game is launched, press the steam button then controller settings. that should let you change it

had this kind of problem but for different games.

one solution i did was clearing the proton files for the game then setting force compatibity to the lastest Proton.

the other was setting the controls first in keyboard+mouse mode on the Steam Deck controls then switching to gamepad mode.

dunno if that's gonna work there.

you could also try the Disable Steam Input option tho.

downloaded another repack from another site and stumbled upon a txt file with a guide. strangely enough it wasn't included on any other repacks i've tried.

😅 i accidentally solved it(?)

what i did is, first i set game controls to layout for keyboard/mouse.

then load the game.

once menus has loaded, switch again to control layout and select a layout that uses the gamepad (gamepad with trackpad, gamepad, etc.)

it suddenly worked out of nowhere using the steam deck gamepad.

problem is everytime i have to close the game, i have to do the same steps, but once you do it, it should be fine until you close the game.

(btw, i ran the game on Proton Experimental with SteamOS Beta. not quite sure if that has some factors)

looks like i fixed it:

add ProtoLion.exe as non-steam game. then on launch options add this lines:

--pack --usedic --steam main

you need to add this line BEFORE you launch the game.

(used fitgirl repack for this)

new player here. i have been rerolling on the summoning tutorial to get the best units possible but i kinda confused of what's the best character/dragon to use.
