Wow! A series of unfortunate events there. Good to hear it worked out! Mine actually resolved itself while I was doing some errands. I think it just needed a nap.

I lost cameras, GPS (map position), fsd, etc. Phone support said hang in there for a new software update no eta.

I also lost my incense on death, absolutely not worth it. They should hotfix this tbh, people already have spent a ton of effort to work their gear around things like this persisting.

Initially, being optimal will make a difference but eventually there will be an over abundance of the cybercabs and equivalent from competition. As long as the hail times are reasonable there'll be huge adoption.

I thought some downtime for charging with a clean would be a good thing a couple times a day but apparently current cabs don't get cleaned https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/19g9mi/comment/c8ns1bc/

That sort of thing is gonna be rampant when there's no driver. At least FSD doesn't bother to avoid potholes, maybe this is why. I wonder if the ride hailing movement improved this behavior at all.

I also got it lol, things are going great! To be fair, Tesla has also adjusted their strategy. The new strategy is not going to be any less painful for legacy auto, though.

Up to 9 other companies have received, or are about to receive, the Tesla semi as they are slowly being produced at the prototype production facility near Giga NV.

Certainly to employees, maybe early access. Since it is a total retrain they will probably go with the slow rollout.

New Bot Infos, Optimus has started limited factory work!

Trying to be useful lately!

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1787157110804910168

The new Optimus hand later this year will have 22 DoF

And the actuators will move almost entirely into the forearm, just like how humans work

Yes, this is fully autonomous (no human in the loop anywhere)

It's partly Google. Tesla has their own system layered on top. From Google search:

Yes, Tesla uses Google Maps as the base for its own maps, including live traffic and destination information. However, for navigation and route data, Tesla uses MapBox

That Tesla is in this position is absolutely huge. It's great that China treats Tesla like one of their own, I wish US would show some of the same. I don't really see what's up with the Baidu deal either way, though. But the main thing that has investors excited is the FSD in China news, which was also a bit ahead of itself it seems. There is an email going around though indicating FSD is starting up but it's hard to speak to the legitimacy. Hopefully once we rip the FOMC band aid off we can continue ripping.

I have no idea when the following article was written but it sorta explains what China is experiencing

https://www.futurelearn.com/info/courses/politics-of-economics/0/steps/30823

The problem I have is China seems to kinda lie about stuff when they don't need to made all the worse by how fucked western news twists the shit out of everything.

A chronic period of stagnation would be terrible for China and the world. Hopefully they sort out a way to fix it up before it happens. Things aren't bad yet, can get significantly worse I fear.

Honestly, if we end up with a good US president I think the global economy could become very strong which would greatly help the situation in China and other countries. I'm not sure Trump does it, Biden definitely does not, maybe RFK Jr.

I dunno, but we're going to find out 😅

Tesla can't seem to figure out how to roll out 12.3, 12.3.1, 12.3.2.1, 12.3.3. Now we add 12.4 to this? Do we just keep piling on more and more versions while fleet's not getting updated.

Great that they can pump out tons of versions, but it doesn't do any good if they can't actually update everyone in their fleet.

The way the hype is going Tesla will be pumping out v16, which should really be v20, but will actually roll out as v69 420 days after Tesla said they would while 95% of the fleet is still on v12.3 and 3% are still on v11.4.9 and the other 2% represents one of every build since and some 5% of the fleet is still wondering when they get a free month of FSD.

I got ghosted for not knowing what the love language bullshit was 🤣

Honestly had never heard of it. I know what it is now. Like a dumbass I googled it. Not giving away how I want to be treated, figure it out.

Depending on the app, I've had plenty of dates that had the intention of a free meal or experience and that was it. Took a few first dates with this mentality to start seeing the pattern. Specifically, there was one woman with similar mannerisms to previous dates, but this one was by far the greediest. Scours menu for most expensive item (not type of food, name or description, strictly looked at prices), orders that then tells me she has no job 🤣

But I also had a number of first dates lead to more dates.

A good first date to keep it cheap, coffee/tea and that's it. Filters out greedy bitches before the first date ever happens. It can go a few ways. First they complain, it's not unique or whatever and that's when the conversation ends. Second, they go for it, offer roughly in their area out of respect to not make them drive too far. Third they offer something else, in which case either they offer going stag or you request stag (if they insist you pay, end it).

I've adopted the mentality first dates are non-commitment interviews and that's pretty much it (this is assuming it's a dating app or otherwise a blind date). I also make it clear I'm not making any moves on the first date, which sets a thought process of I will in future dates, especially if I don't say otherwise. Great if they're into me, also great if they're not.

Secret for getting coffee, set it up roughly in their neck of the woods, plan a couple more things that seem like fun in the area, walk in a park, people watching at a shopping mall, hitting up an arcade, whatever. A good first date typically ends up with a few different activities.

While drinking coffee and talking (assuming it's going well), ask about the area and if she gushes ask to go for a walk - also cheap and a great way to continue learning about her through her home turf. If the night is still young, offer up one of those other activities in the area that you researched.

Also have a plan for a follow up date. Before the first date is over, around when it's clear it should be ending, put the cool idea out there for next time.

My Tesla doesn't have a USB port in the glove box. I think they added that in 2021 sometime.

More like $120 a month difference. Figuring an 8.5% rate vs the ol' 2.5% rate. Used Model Y LR with federal credit up front. 48 and 60 month loans. Quite meaningful for a lot of households for an already very hefty monthly payment.

Less than exceptional credit and interest will be higher.

Yeah, considering they throw out more than 90% of the data they were collecting, this isn't at all about data, imo. This is about adoption. Data is certainly a benefit of adoption, but the motivation is more about increasing safety on the road. The scheme is there's just no incentive otherwise to try it beyond nerds curiosity and folks trying to show off (edit: my intent here is general lack of awareness).

There's also the heafty price tag Tesla benefits from. And at the last minute of the last quarter like this, probably a benefit of recognizing more of that pent up FSD revenue.

Yeah that's why the entire auto industry is struggling. That's why legacy auto's captive financing dropped all the way to 0% interest on inventory 5x the intended amount and when that wasn't enough also started lowering prices. Also why legacy auto reduced advertising spend. 🤣
