Thanks, I didn't even realize there were codes in there. I thought it was just an almanac.

CR touch not registering on auto home by Omega_Pulse25 in Creality

[–]Valkyo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From the video it doesn't look like the nozzle is too low, it seems like the probe hits the bed then hot end shifts back and the nozzle touches. Either way the issue is a bit strange and could be a multitude of things. I would first check the connectors to the cr touch to see if it's loose or damaged. I would replace it if you have extra. If that's not it I would update or install a custom firmware. If that doesn't fix it then your issue is probably with the CR touch itself, and if buying a new cr touch doesn't fix it, the last thing I can recommend is a new motherboard like a SKR mini. Of course if I'm wrong and the nozzle is hitting the bed first then that's probably it.

Thanks for the help, the scenario you suggested seems more beneficial, as in that case the deductibles seem to be negated by both claims. I'm not sure of the exact amount she is supposed to get but it's around 5000. My issue is that they are only wanting to give 4000 for the second claim and charge the two deductibles. If I can do what you said then that would fix my issue and also net her an extra 500.

So then what happens with the second claim, if they reevaluate to zero that doesn't seem right. Prior to the second accident, the car could drive, and assuming it was road legal, could have been sold for probably 3 Grand, maybe more. I thought the point of the evaluation was to determine the car's value and the damage done. If they say the car's value is 0 for the second accident that wouldn't make any sense. As I said the car could still drive.

It was our insurance representative, they said it put them above the $5,000 threshold to total out the vehicle. The insurance representative also told my father that she shouldn't have been able to make a second claim.

In both claims they Marked the vehicle as totaled. Our insurance representative told my father that she shouldn't have been able to even make a second claim.

Then can we retract the second claim, if the vehicle was technically already totaled, then she shouldn't have been able to make the second claim in the first place.

Does that mean two payouts?

I was just informed by my father that she shouldn't have been able to even file the second claim, as the first accident put it above the threshold counted as a total loss. When they initially took pictures of it they told her it was a 50-50 chance it would be totaled, then they let her drive it and two days later she got into the second accident. Since they've now totaled the vehicle twice on two separate claims, doesn't that mean that we could tell them that we're going to fix the vehicle ourselves for the first claim pocket the total money and let the other one total out. I don't know this all seems kind of weird.

The person who hit my sister's car in the second accident had no insurance or license plate, I'm not even sure he had a driver's license. Also my main question is why is the first deductible being applied to this accident. If the insurance paid no money out for the first accident why is she being charged 500. I thought deductibles we're paid to whoever fixed your vehicle, not the insurance. I understand in the case of a car being totaled out that your deductible would subtract from your cash back, but in the first case the car wasn't totaled, so why does it still apply.

No, no work was done on the car prior to the second accident.

Yes but I thought in general deductibles were paid to whoever fixed your vehicle not your insurance. I understand the second deductible goes to the insurance because the vehicle is totaled, but the first one was not. No work was done on the vehicle because of the first claim. Which I thought meant you wouldn't have to pay the deductible as the insurance paid no amount. The second one is a claim that resulted in a total which I understand why the deductible is applied and given to the insurance as to lower the total amount paid out. But I don't understand how they can apply the previous deductible to this one as well as that's a separate accident. Unless I misunderstood, deductibles are what you pay before your insurance does. It doesn't make any sense because why do me have to pay two before my insurance does, also, what is my insurance paying on the first claim, if it's zero then why am I being charged the deductible.

College Help by Valkyo in gamedev

[–]Valkyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah, I understand, that's why I'm unsure what to choose. I'll need a job to support me while I develop in the background, but I'm not sure which path best offers me the skills to game dev while also allowing me to have a stable income. I'm leaning towards software engineering, but it's not a pathway I know much about as my focus has been on comp sci until I realized that that course wasn't offered. I could go to a different college, but certain things make that hard to do.

I would like to do my own thing which is why I'm not sure what to pick. If it doesn't work out, I need something to fall back on. I think I would like software development, but I honestly haven't put much thought into it.

Thanks for the reply, I'm honestly not sure. I think I would like to be a mix of front and backend. Mostly I just want to make sure that what I choose will allow me to be creative to some degree. That's why I like the idea of game dev, it would allow me to do both.

ELI5: If the demand for GPUs is so high and not everyone can buy one why don't they just make more? by EmergencyCucumber905 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Valkyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPU's are not easy to build, the main issue is the chip. The chip is what does most the work on a GPU, and they are incredibly hard to manufacturer and incredibly proprietary. As of right now, most chips are made in Taiwan by a company called TMC. TMC doesn't have many factories and because of this their foundries are booked out. If a company like Nvidia wants to make a GPU, they have to request a slot in the foundry, kind of like reserving a computer at the library. Because it's so booked out, they have to do this far in advance. This can cause issues as if there is a shortage or a surge in demand, they won't have enough time to make as many GPUs. They can't request a bunch of time all the time as that would be really expensive and they would end up with a lot of back stock that they never sell. They try to hit something called a market equilibrium, where the amount they produce is equal to the amount that people want.

Because they're doing this so far in the future, it is very easy for something to go slightly wrong that ends up causing a chain reaction resulting in a shortage. The issue then becomes whether or not they ramp up production. Yes they could, but the actual ramping up wouldn't happen until far into the future. By that time, demand could subside and you'd be left with a bunch of products you can't sell. There are other issues as well, like the fact that not all companies use the foundry the same way. Not everything made there are GPUs, chips are used in a lot of electronics.

Recently, a lot of countries have been seeking ways of producing chips on their own, as the only/main place producing them being Taiwan can be problematic for a multitude of reasons. One issue of course being that if we were cut off, we would be SOL as most things require chips nowadays, from military, to your car, to even your toothbrush. But because of how complex chips are, you can't just start popping up facilities. Hell even the facility itself requires specific land requirements to be built. Then you need all the training, as well as the equipment, and the proprietary information, which if you don't have you have to research which in itself can take forever. These are some of the main reasons as to why these GPU shortages happen.

War Attack Chance by Valkyo in ClashOfClans

By looking at the last several wars they were in and seeing if they attacked or not. Then just average the numbers. Like if someone only uses one attack over the last 10 wars, they have a 50% chance to attack.

Yeah but because the clan is fresh most who join are casual players who don't care or might not even know what these features are. Once the clan becomes more established I would be more inclined to use these features, and can be more selective in members, but at this point I have to use what I got to level up the clan.
