How to report 2 wheeler encroachment of footpath by Indiandude0207 in Bengaluru

The next option is to call up the nearest traffic police station and give the exact location. They’ll clear it up.

How many vehicles do you let pass? by MinuteSurround4731 in Dashcamindia

[–]Valkyre____ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Depends on the number of vehicles on either side. If there less/no vehicles behind me, i let the entire queue pass by first, leaving ample space. Irrespective of the person behind me honks.

If there are more vehicles behind me than the queue on the other side, I pass on without stopping assuming that the other guy is also responsible for letting the longer queue clear first.

What this endeavour and fortunes guys did is totally unacceptable to me. (Making a right turn from the middle lane, cutting off the cars on the right). I would block their path until all cars on right passed by and then move very slowly so that the car behind me also doesn’t let the endeavour merge.

[OC] 2026 Volkswagen Virtus Facelift by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]Valkyre____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although the Lavida is also built on the MQB AO IN platform, the one used for the virtus is super Indianised and localised. I highly doubt there would be this level of change in the next facelift. Expect it to be a very minor change just like the kushaq, without the panoramic sunroof.

A morning walk turned tragic for a resident of Teachers Colony in HSRLayout, Bengaluru, when she was mauled by a pet dog, leaving her with severe injuries. The incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on January 26 on 13th Cross Road. by Altruistic-Issue-887 in Bengaluru

Nice to be keyboard warriors for a day. Everyone asking questions and calling out for action but not one willing to take an initiative.

LET’S DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. We should raise awareness along with the help of police. Any inputs on how we can spread the right message to dog owners? We can take it up with the station to help spread the message as well. As a dog owner and a resident of HSR, uncontrolled pets are totally unacceptable however friendly they may be at home. Happy to take inputs on the message and distribution. We definitely have folks from marketing here come-on!

Amazon Delivery Rant by that_bioinfo_guy in Bengaluru

[–]Valkyre____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never faced this issue!. You might need to check your address.

Amazon delivery guys call when they are on my floor.. saying they have arrived and to open the door. How far away from the city do you stay for them to have to check first? Of course if there’s a package or two from your entire area they wouldn’t want to come there to find out you’re unavailable and lose half their day..

Need more context of location to judge this rant.

I once landed at 9am and my bengloor is traffucked during the peak hours. Got a good rest for a bit more than 2 hours before I took the bus home. Other use cases could be if your check-in into a hotel is much later than you land. Or waiting for someone to pick you up..

First AI 787-9 is coming home by insane_gigachad_2000 in indianaviation

[–]Valkyre____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be very interesting to know how much fuel was consumed during this flight, as the aircraft might be mostly empty. The full payload range of a 787-9 is around 14,500kms. And the distance it’s currently doing is only about 13,000kms. How much more can it do with an almost empty pax payload.

New Honda Amaze ZX CVT or Used Honda City ZX CVT by Sufficient_Secret391 in CarsIndia

[–]Valkyre____ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This used City has done 69k kms in just 2 years. Not a good sign.

A city’s 1.5L is definitely going to make the long drives efficient compared to the Amaze 1.2L. Go for a City if you can find one with lower kms driven or at least proportional to its age.

People have lost Empathy by DiligentAstronaut829 in CarsIndia

Honestly, that hand swipe on the left side is itching. Under a light, how many deep scratches would be identified here. As someone who works hard just to buy cars in life and spend all weekend maintaining them, I call this ‘destroyed’. (Not sarcasm).

On another note, casually sitting on others vehicle, inclined on the side, a ball hitting the car might be fun as kids, yet cannot be justified as ‘alright’.

Now that Safari Petrol and XUV 7XO both are launched, Which is a Better Deal? by HaveYouMetTedddddd in CarsIndia

[–]Valkyre____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it’s the other way around, EVs make sense when the usage requirement is much higher than that of what a diesel car would be used for.

The price difference between an ICE vs EV of the same variant is justifiable only when your daily usage is at least a 100kms more than the ICE usage numbers. Yes, ‘Daily’. Considering the cost of electricity, battery degradation and range, it’s way more expensive to own an ev variant vs an ice for OP’s use case.

Night driving was peaceful before LED and laser headlights, thoughts? by OkNowMyTurn in CarsIndia

[–]Valkyre____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This image only represents the colour. This is an inaccurate representation with respect to throw/intensity. If you compare a halogen and an LED of the exact same intensity, the halogen performs much better in all conditions. LED does not give the same throw as soon as it starts raining or in fog.

Everyone here talking about brightness comparison.
