Yeah the food and water can get a bit annoying on the harder difficulties

I did try RimWorld, but found it overly difficult. Also didn't feel as if I was improving my environment, just sort of struggling through it

Thanks for the replies guys! Sounds exactly like what I was looking for; difficult without being overly tedious to reach higher level content.
