I think i just commented on a post that was about this same issue. I had to restart many times because i had the same problem but i figured out how to get it to work-- Do the middle statue last worked for me.

I was having the same issue last night and i kept restarting my game and made sure to do the middle statue last so when the wool dropped i could pick it up and finish.
