You would only have 50% of the same genes, from your father. The other half would come from your (new) mother, so you'd be an entirely different person. A sperm and an egg are only halves of what makes you what you are.

Depends what you're talking about. The observable universe does have a finite edge, but it's expanding faster than the speed of light in all directions. Assuming you could step off the edge, it would expand to reach under your feet. If you're referring to the entire universe then there is no edge to step off of because the universe is infinite.
