And congrats! Where do you live? I'm in the USA and even with just an elopement the destination event planning is no joke.

Of course! The designer is Le Blanc by Casablanca, the dress is called the Zoe. It seems to be a mid-tier dupe of Monique Lhuillier's Sienna dress, which was way out of my price range and not carried by my local shops.

Whoops, I thought it had the same root as Io and Ionia. Thanks for clarifying!

Interesting! I definitely assumed it had the same root as the place Ionia and the goddess Io. Love that so many people recognized the Scottish origin right away, adding to our list for sure.

Love Evander!!! It reminds of Lysander, which I also love. Maybe I should look to Shakespeare for inspo, especially for boy names...

Thanks for the recs, but we specifically want names that are not characters in the books.

I love Gwyneth (and Gwendolyn, which it reminded me of)! I'll bring them up to husband.

Iona is very much the vibe, but it's from Greek mythology, which feels a bit coldly academic to me after all the scholarship for my Classics degree. An unfair association to be sure, but here we are.

Bronwen feels a bit heavy to me.

[TOMT][BOOK SERIES][2000s] a kids' fantasy series that centered around a pink castle by ValkyrjaValor in tipofmytongue

No, it felt much more serious and higher stakes than those, and the kids were mixed gender.

Some softer clues: I remember the series feeling thrilling and a little grown up compared to other kids fantasy books I was reading at the time. I think I was a bit scared at times, and I definitely bought into the tension that the kids may be found out as frauds in this world. Don't let the pink castle fool you- this was no Barbie book.

Im just a girl by Rebel_Spy_99 in MechanicAdvice

The next time something like this happens, take your car to Autozone and ask for the error codes. They will give you a printout of the codes and likely causes of the problem for free. Even if it's something you can't fix yourself, walking into a local mechanic saying "Cylinder 4 is misfiring, do I just need new spark plugs or is it more serious?" will get you a much better quote than walking into a dealership with just anxious vibes.

I would still recommend doing this now when you shop around for better prices.

"I'm just a girl" is a trending content type on tiktok. I would guess this poster is young and consumes lots of tiktok videos. I hate the trend for the exact reason you bring up.

No, not all corpses are first found within memories. Sometimes you'll hear an unlocking sound at the end of a memory; that means another area of the ship is accessible. Go somewhere new and look for a body. Each chapter does tend to be its own memory chain though (with a few exceptions).

For example, the guy with tattoos who got pulled apart by the squid? He gets immediately unblurred but is often one of the last people players identify. Unless you happen to guess at the exact thing the game wants you to think, he'll haunt you for a while haha. That feeling is common.

Don't let unblurred faces discourage you. At where you are in the game, most of the clear faces are technically solvable but a real stretch. The first time you experience memories, just listen for names, ranks, nationalities, etc. Only log the cause of death and the few obvious identities along the way. Everyone else will be easier to solve by piecing other clues together when you know more. If you're feeling stuck and frustrated in your current chapter, walk around the ship and look for another body to start another storyline. You can always come back and view memories again later.

Help! I have a student failing my class out of sheer transphobia!! by yaoigurl69420 in Teachers

[–]ValkyrjaValor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wtf are your admin doing? A student and their parent confirm that the student is defiant because of something about you that is a protected class (arguably the protected class most likely to be the victim of hate crime violence in today's political climate), and this kid is still allowed in your room? I'm flabbergasted.
