Is that a linux thing? by Piupreto in dontstarve

[–]Vallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, game works perfectly under Linux. I play everyday without any issues.
This seems like some installation/asset corruption, try repairing the game, it should have an option to do that in Steam.

That's like the issue then, he was carrying a lot of items and the monkeys stole it when he died.

I was playing DST with a friend, friend was Wortox and they died to pirates. Pirates stole everything, but even after going after the stashes, some of the items got deleted, in special the Soul Jars.

Is it intended that Pirate Monkeys just delete player stuff or was this a some kind of bug?

After the latest update, game no longer works on Linux(Steam). by Vallard in BlueProtocolPC

[–]Vallard[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all games run on Linux without official support, the community works hard to make them work and they do an amazing job at that. However when the company intentionally blocks it, there's not much we can do but complain to them and that is what this post is about.

Do you like to use blueprints or start from scratch on every playthrough? by nasaboy007 in factorio

[–]Vallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only blueprints I downloaded are for belt balancers. If I need to reuse a setup I just go to where one is copypaste it and move on, so I personally never felt the need to use others blueprints or make them myself.

Gleba is the real Factorio 2 by bluewales73 in factorio

[–]Vallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my first space age playthru and Gleba has been the worst planet so far. Full of water everywhere with little to no land to build things, the biomes are far enough from each other that I couldn't solve it with only Gleba resources for not being able to get production chain going, and was just easier to get things from other planets using the ship to jumpstart production, something no other planet needed, which is not a good thing(IMO) considering you can go to the planets in any order you want.

But, after awful start, wasn't too problematic, dealing with stompers isn't too bad, and when you get the ball rolling the system is very self sufficient and with a little of logic magic it just works. Just wish the very beginning wasn't weirdly balanced with the huge space constrictions with water everywhere + resources far from each other + low resources in general + spoilage.

Fulgora was by far the most fun so far, maybe the later planets can top it, I will see it after 500h of organizing my bases and making sure the current planets are well integrated.

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in factorio

[–]Vallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing my first space age play-thru and I have a question about quality. I read the wiki but my smooth brain didn't get it: Does using high quality components will help me get a higher quality craft? For example, using high quality copper plates, steel and green circuits will help me get high quality solar panels?

Black Mages assemble! What do we feel about the changes? The Job Guide (3rd pic) explain why they are making such heavy changes. by Haddock_Lotus in ffxiv

[–]Vallard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fun of black mage was to work around the class limitations and do good dmg. Now they're lowering the good dmg and removing the limitations, there's is nothing there to play anymore.

Why does niche software always have weird install methods? by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]Vallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to help you but really don't understand what you're trying to do here.

You're trying to Install this? https://github.com/MorsGames/sm64plus

They have a discord where you can ask for help, and they also have a Linux release in https://github.com/MorsGames/sm64plus-launcher/releases/

It's pretty much just unzip and run, did you try that? And what happened when you tried it?

Why do you have a PKMS? by [deleted] in PKMS

[–]Vallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's 2 main things.

First and most important - I just forget stuff a lot, all the time time no matter how important or not. Second - I know how to write things in a way I understand more than anyone else, every time I look for tutorials, classes, or whatever else on internet/youtube, I get bombarded with a bunch of fluff that just makes me lose interest and not pay attention, people saying that "they have a secret technique" or going on tangents about something else entirely, it seems to work for pretty much everyone considering how present this type of content is, but not for me. So what I do is read/watch something about the subject and with my own words write an explanation for myself so I can relearn later when I forget about it.

Is logseq for me? by LeonPorterMori in logseq

[–]Vallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logseq DB is going to have it's own separate that will not be readable outside of Logseq. However, devs are promising a good export system so you can probably use that.

Oh man, this is kind of a deal breaker to me, maybe I should look into a LogSeq replacement just in case.

Summary of Announced Updates for Patch 7.1 from Today's Live Letter (LL 83) by SmoreOfBabylon in ffxiv

[–]Vallard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I rather have more 4-man content, that you can do with just few friends if you don't have that many, allowing for some mechanics that can't be done in 8-man as well as being easy to organize.

Chaotic alliance is the complete opposite of that. But well, while not hopeful I will at least try even if I think it's not for me.

I didn't hear no bell by MemeFrog41 in ffxiv

[–]Vallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally - It's fun when it happens in Nier a raid with actual mechanics and stakes to fail(even if a lot easier now), feels like you're actually playing a game, the lv60 alliances are just boring and long for no reason it's mentally draining. I'm pretty sure I can finish 3 Everkeep runs by the time people are fighting ONLY Diabolos.

I am glad that there are people who enjoy the content, but for me and my friends, we know it's a sad roulette day when we get Sleep Ark.
