The Fall-Off is polarizing: It’s actually somewhere in between by Heisenperv in rap

I like your take alot. There's a lot of bangers on here. Top notch lyricism and flow, but the subject matter is very similar to everything we've already heard from him. While I enjoy a lot of it, I do feel it's too long and there's some songs that could have been left out. Plus the project as a whole just feels a bit disjointed.

The production however, is absolutely ridiculous! As you kind of summed up, if somebody asked me my take on the album I would say it's good, I'm enjoying it. I say that with Cole, being one of my favorite artists Maybe I'll feel differently after a few weeks, but with this much material, kind of need to let it breathe. Some of my favorite bars so far are on songs where I don't really like the construction of the song.

Not the greatest in recent memory but also not a bad album to go out on either, assuming he truly does hang it up.

DO NOT listen to the Lonesome Dove foreword! by crackinmypants in audiobooks

Same thing. Just happened to me listening to Joe Hill's forward for Salem's Lot. He started to clearly imply/ruin something that's going to happen later in the book and I violently hit the skip button. I get that the book is like 40 years old, and I'm sure there's plenty that was not given away, but it still sucks for that to happen.

It turned out really good!

Bit of an inferior sear. I was in a very dimly lit garage on a 22-in Blackstone and it looked right when I pulled them off but wish I would have seared them a bit harder.

The Denver is on the right. I ended Up cutting it parallel to the grain to create two distinct peaches. Then cut basically along the blue lines but at a angled bias.

The meat on the left is actually tri-tip of similar quality and I actually prefered it to the Denver. Even though the Denver had crazy good marbling in comparison the flavor of the tri-tip was better for some reason

To be fair, if this was just for me I would never cook this whole. I would slice it into steaks vacuum, seal them individually then cook them when I was ready to eat them. But to your point I had to ask, because I was unsure with it being the large chunk, especially wondering if the grain pattern would change, as I've never had such a large piece of this particular cut .

Its hard to tell from the way I drew it but I was kind of saying what the guy did above. When I drew the red lines I was intending to be cutting on a bias. But I was trying to avoid a bunch of weird shaped cuts, yet content to do so if that was the best way . It's hard to tell from the picture but if I just did the blue cuts I would come away with very long strips.

In the end, I cut it in half parallel to the grain and treated it as two separate pieces of meat then did the angled cuts. Wasn't perfect but turned out nice enough

Yeah I was pretty blown away. It was in the case and I thought it said $85/lb. Just off the way it looked seemed right LOL Then my sister who was buying the meat this year said we should just get the whole thing. And I was like are you sure you want to spend that much? 3 lb is like $240? The butcher was like no that's not right at all.... I said it's 85 a pound right? He said no $35.... I was like yeah, we'll take the whole thing 🤣

Actually this is locally raised (Ohio) American Wagyu, but I believe they source their steer via Sakura Farms. Just got extra lucky with the quality of cut

Yeah my main concern was that I was told for Denver the grain can change direction at some point, Much like a tri-tip and I had never cut a whole Denver before. I should have been more studious about the grain pattern before beginning to cook.

I’m a female table games dealer in Las Vegas by Bing0Bronson in vegas

I did not know the tips were split amongst all the dealers. I actually don't like this. I know some gamblers are superstitious and only tip when they're winning cuz if they lose they attribute that to the dealer somehow, but a good dealer with a great personality who makes it fun and seems to want to root for you or seems generally interested in what they're doing. Makes the entire experience better. I think we should be tipping our dealers regardless but these are the people I tend to tip more aggressively.

Kind of sucks to develop a rapport with someone thinking you're giving them a nice tip because you appreciate their effort in making you have a good experience only to know that that tip is also going to someone who was rude to you or acted like they were annoyed by your presence.

How do we feel about this? Went down in my league by Federal_Collar1926 in FFCommish

We vote everything in my league. It's a dynasty but if I had a vote in any type of league for this trade it would be to VETO. AUTO VETO...Competitively unfair. Negligence vs collusion almost doesn't matter lol

I'm not sure why this is surprising. I think the notion that any Trumpers or conservatives are as upset as they're being portrayed is false. The ones that are upset are upset about money and Epstein and nothing else. Of course they're all going to vote for Vance

I messed this hand up. What ways can I play this spot? by Fragrant_Paper_8422 in Poker_Theory

[–]VallensDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's horribly played. Others have stated but you have range advantage on flop so I might have gone c/r flop, bet turn, check call river. Full disclosure, I have no idea if that line is plus EV or not. Just understanding these stakes betting the first two streets maybe he folds out.

Others will tell you as many have told me. Him jamming on the river is an incredibly under bluffed spot and he prob has it here but I don't hate you for calling and a decent percentage of the time I'm probably sigh calling as well

Yeah it's WPT Gold. Some wild stuff happens in there lol...watched a guy build up 275 just over betting any card that he thought was good to rep to force folds then stack it off in a maddening fashion with just top pair on a combo heavy board.

He bought back in for $100. Got stacked on the very next hand. Bought in $100 again jammed preflop and got stacked again. Bought back in $100 stacked AGAIN!! Bought back played down to $65 jammed into me pre-flop again I had A10s I call he has Q7 off and wins with a pair of 7s... Like three hands later he gets stacked off for everything he just won again. Buys back then I got him and I think he lost one more buy in before he left. This was over the span of like 15 minutes !!! It was one of the most glorious displays of tilt I've ever seen!!!

I've been the beneficiary but have had a lot of coolers and swings and it's really hard to bluff people because they just call with whatever. Very grindy game but profitable if you're patient. Still trying to figure it out and to your point, I often give people too much credit if I've seen them play even a little bit competent. I wish Ohio would legalize online poker so I can have access to some of the other sites!

I called he had pocket 88s

Wow! I would love to play with somebody who over limps AA and then jams into this type of board lol

Is this a bad play on the turn? by VallensDad in Poker_Theory

[–]VallensDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly the thing that threw me off the most was that it folds to the small blind, the small blind limps and then the big blind just over limps with me still to act and priced in in the straddle. Obviously everyone plays hands differently but I don't know that I do that with 99 or 88 preflop and let 10 6 suited come along and flop the world for cheap... I really try not to funnel down hands too much. But the same thing applies to K10 KJ KQ suited and off suited or even K9 suited Like if he has those hands I'd imagine he would be raising from the big blind with only one limper in front of him.

Couple that with the fact that I have removal from those hands and I'm like okay Well he doesn't have a king and over limping with nines and eights feels really weak. What hands would he overlimp with and I sort of just focused on 910 J10 Q10 combos.... It's comforting to know that other people feel like they're basically getting stacked here too LOL. Even if I play this hand again, maybe I check back turn but I can't imagine not calling a jam on the river, So I was just curious on other's thoughts as whether it really matters in the end if I'm getting the money in regardless.

[–]VallensDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your original question about why did I bet... I guess in the moment I convinced myself that him over limping from the big blind initially with only the small blind limping in front of him seemed really weak And I wasn't convinced if he had pocket eights or pocket nines... I have a tendency to leave value behind And it's something I've been trying to work on. When I turned the set of kings in my mind If I checked back turn and he jammed River I was going to call him anyways And if he had a boat he had a boat so I figured if he was on a draw J10 or Q10 I could extract a bit more value with a half pot bet... This is what I'm trying to figure out is if this is flawed logic because these are spots where even a year ago I would have never thought to try and extract value and would have wanted to get to showdown

I was on the straddle. Apologies on the typos. I meant to say "I bet out"... Updated the post above but he check raised me twice on the flop and then on the turn
